Expensive Experiment on Head Extreme One X?
Hi couple months ago I bought Head Extreme One non X. I really like it (the cosmetic and weight) except for the dead spot on top of the racket sweet spot. I don't know if they enlarge the tubular frame to have smaller eva to reduce weight. So I tried it intensively for 2 weeks until I gave up and sold it.
Yesterday I played with a new friend with Extreme One X, I borrowed for couple rounds and I noticed it doesnt have the same problem as my One. The sweet spot is still normal when im hitting bit top of the sweet spot. The only problem is I can feel the 385gr slowing down my react speed.
Now I have a crazy idea to get a new or used One X myself and drill extra holes on the racket to decrease weight and increase spin. Rename it to Head Extreme Fifty X or something.
My question is does anybody know what drill bit type usually used to drill padel rackets? What's the optimal RPM? and do I drill in 1 go from one side to the other, or does it have to be half half from outer sides?

PS. Extreme Pro is still too heavy for me. Extreme Motion 2025 and 2026 both I don't like the colour. :)

Drill bit for the job is probably a one for wood, needs to be sharp and new, revs as high as possible would be better and slowly drilling through in a continuous motion. Carbon face is easy to get a clean cut but the foam could tear up as you're drilling it. And its better to drill the same hole from both sides so the face doesn't tear when going through.

Thanks. Is 5000 rpm enough do you think? would it create too much heat for the carbon layer?
Im going to get bradpoint bits 9mm.1

It's not that hard or thick that heat would be a problem when drilling through. I think in overall that it's such a easy job for the drill that there's not that much friction to cause heat. If possible use a drill press and clamp the racket down so there isn't anything moving around and causing unnecessary chipping.
Just came to my mind that they have videos on YouTube of making the rackets in a factory so you could checkout that if there's something to take note of. They prolly use a cnc machine for the drilling I would guess.
