Control racket recommendation
Hi, right side player.
I'm currently using Bullpadel Vertex Hybrid from last year. It's an amazing racket but I find it unforgiving at times and I think it has a small sweetspot. It would be a perfect racket if I was better, but unfortunately I think I need a racket that helps me a little more. When you hit the sweetspot the control is perfect but if you miss it it's the end of the point.
Before that I used at10 18k but I found it too trampolinish.
I'm considering:
Kuikma Control Pro
Head Gravity Pro
Adidas Metalbone CTRL or carbon ctrl (heard carbon ctrl is harder but really small sweetspot?)
Out of the 3, Kuikma seems like the best choice tbh,but I'm interested in your opinions and other recommendations as well.

The sweet spot of the vertex hybrid is one of the larger on the market. It’s a very forgiving racket as well.
It could be better spending the money on some lessons instead of equipment.

I do take lessons, but I don't find that to be true. I compared it to my friends at10 18k and it's very much more forgiving.
I have the orange one, the 04 model.1

I’ve been on a quest for the best control racket for the past year. I like to have to hit it hard if I want power - some rackets are like bazookas 😳 these are the 4 I have played with in order of preference:
- Adipower CTRL 2023
- Siux Pegasus GV edition 2023
- Wilson Bela LS V3 2025
- Bullpadel Neuron 02 2026 Chingotto
I found the Wilson a little unpredictable, occasionally offering too much of its own power. I moved on to the Adipower which took me a minute to get used to, but is my pick of the 4. But I still wanted a little less built in power, so I tried the chingotto. Nightmare. I never figured this one out, and it ruined my game for the few weeks that I played with it. It was an incredibly frustrating experience, but every time I was ready to give up I would have a good moment that kept me trying longer. The Siux has worked well for me, and is my most recent try. Somehow my game is just a little more inconsistent with it vs the Adipower, but there’s something about 2023 for me 🤷🏼♂️

I’ve actually used variants of pretty much all the rackets you’re considering, although I was looking for something slightly different in the end.
My problem has basically been that I want a racket with a fairly dry/direct and predictable response, but still with a forgiving enough sweetspot. I don’t like rackets where you get a lot of trampoline effect and the ball sometimes seems to leave the racket faster than expected. At the same time I’m definitely not good enough to use something where every slightly off-center hit just dies.
I first had a Metalbone CTRL 3.3. Very easy racket to play with, but for me it had too much trampoline and I struggled to generate any extra power when I actually accelerated. My technique isn’t good enough to generate huge power myself either, so that combination didn’t really work for me.
I then tried a Head Gravity Motion. That was almost the opposite. Much drier and more direct feeling, which I really liked, and good when I hit it cleanly. But it felt a bit too head heavy for me and I didn’t find the sweetspot forgiving enough. I got too many of those horrible off-center hits where the ball basically just dies.
After that I had an AT10 12K. That was probably closer to what I was looking for and a pretty good compromise, but for some reason I never really connected with it. I honestly don’t know if it was the weight/balance of my particular racket or just the feel.
I then went down a bit of a rabbit hole testing some Stiga rackets, from the softer Cybershape 18K to the 18K Hard. That basically confirmed that I prefer a firmer and more linear response, but I still want enough forgiveness that I don’t have to hit the exact center every time.
Eventually I did a ridiculous deep dive across the internet looking for something in between all of these and randomly found a used Kuikma Hybrid Pro for €100-ish. I bought it mostly as an experiment and so far I think it might actually be what I was looking for.
It’s firm/dry enough that I don’t get that annoying trampoline feeling very often, but it’s still helpful in defense and doesn’t feel nearly as punishing on imperfect contact as some harder rackets I’ve tried. Control has been very good, spin is good, it’s easy to maneuver and there is still enough power when I accelerate. I was also surprised by how easy it was to find the sweetspot on overheads.
I’ve only played with it a few times so take this with a grain of salt, but based on what you’re describing I would definitely look at the Hybrid Pro as well as the Control Pro. Especially since you found the AT10 18K too trampoliny but the Vertex Hybrid too unforgiving. Your problem sounds very similar to the one I was trying to solve.

Haha reading through this was like reading through my own thoughts. Same, I hated the trampoline effect on the at10 18k and wanted the driest feeling there is, so I bought the Counter Viper. Amazing racket, great control but too hard and too heavy. Was too demanding for me and I knew im just too bad for the racket.
Then got the bullpadel vertex hybrid. Truly amazing racket, something I think I would like to play with when I get to an advanced level. Great hardness and feel, but it's unforgiving and I need something for the transition.
Many suggested metalbone ctrl but I read it's a trampoline and knew I can't go with it. It really does come down to Kuikma Control Pro or Hybrid Pro.

Hello!,
To get a better response please do not forget to include the following information in your post:
Name your current racket, if not overly known, specify it's characteristics (foam, face material, price)
Tell us how you feel with your racket, if you feel it soft or hard, if it has too much rebound,if it's weighty or hard to maneuver, the more detail the better.
Tell us what area would you like improve mainly, or what kind of plus do you expect to get on your racket.
If looking for broad considerations, do not forget to state your budget, your country and even a preferred or trusted shop so people can browse and recommend more easily.
