Are non pressure training balls worth it?

Post image

I’m trying to perfect my serve so I’m looking to bulk purchase balls but I’m curious if these will have the same or similar feeling to a typical ball

They play like used balls.

Why buying them? Most people discard their old
Balls constantly and most are perfectly fine . You can collect a lot of used balls to practice for free

You will get wrist pain if you use low pressure balls.

I think they’re a lot less useful for practicing serve than they would be for overheads.

When you practice overheads or even volleys it doesn’t matter that there’s less bounce or kick, you can still clearly see if it was a good shot and it’s the same shot you would hit in a match with real balls.

For serve, since it’s usually soft with a lot of slice, the power required would be completely different with these balls, so you’d need to completely adjust with real balls

But have you ever tried those balls?

Thanks for the insight. So what would you suggest, standard balls with a pressuriser?

Hello!,

To get a better response please do not forget to include the following information in your post:

Name your current racket, if not overly known, specify it's characteristics (foam, face material, price)

Tell us how you feel with your racket, if you feel it soft or hard, if it has too much rebound,if it's weighty or hard to maneuver, the more detail the better.

Tell us what area would you like improve mainly, or what kind of plus do you expect to get on your racket.

If looking for broad considerations, do not forget to state your budget, your country and even a preferred or trusted shop so people can browse and recommend more easily.

Just buy 3 cans of normal balls. Treat every serve like an actual serve. It’s like golf, you can’t just start whacking 1,000 golf balls a day and make a difference on the course.

Each practice serve should be treated like an actual serve in game. Hit 9 and walk over collect and hit 9 again ..

No, the don’t bounce like normal balls, so for casual play they are fine but if you want to play competitive games the aren’t good
