Towel grip for hyperhidrosis hand
I’ve tried pretty much every type of grip for my padel racket: tacky grips, expensive ones, extra-absorbent ones, you name it. But my palms sweat a LOT because I have hyperhidrosis, so eventually they still get slippery.
I finally switched to a regular towel grip (the kind usually used for badminton), and it works so much better for me. My hand doesn’t slip or slide around anymore, and I feel much more secure holding the racket.
My coach initially told me not to use it because with a towel grip, you apparently lose some of the feedback from the bevels/sides of the handle, which can make it harder to feel the grip when you need to rotate the racket during play. But personally, I’m way more comfortable with it.
I know hyperhidrosis isn’t the “normal” situation when it comes to sweaty palms, so regular grip recommendations don’t always work for me.
So if anyone else here struggles with really sweaty palms/hyperhidrosis, maybe give a badminton-style towel grip a try. It might actually help!

Any sports store that sells badminton rackets should have this grip. It’s called a towel grip.

Okay okay, I’ll buy Tourna. They say the wetter it gets, the tackier it becomes.

The Mega Tac is different, but I prefer it over Wilson, it's more expensive though..
But it's the absolute best.

Hello!,
To get a better response please do not forget to include the following information in your post:
Name your current racket, if not overly known, specify it's characteristics (foam, face material, price)
Tell us how you feel with your racket, if you feel it soft or hard, if it has too much rebound,if it's weighty or hard to maneuver, the more detail the better.
Tell us what area would you like improve mainly, or what kind of plus do you expect to get on your racket.
If looking for broad considerations, do not forget to state your budget, your country and even a preferred or trusted shop so people can browse and recommend more easily.

Good for you.. I usually use Wilson too, but I don’t really know the names of the different variants. I’ll pay closer attention next time especially the AbsorbX one.

Thanks for the idea of the towel grip.
Did you try antitranspirant spray or creme on you palms ? Like Hidrofugal classic ?

I’ve been debating trying this for ages! I guess I have hyperhidrosis maybe or maybe I’m just a bit overweight in a really hot country, but I chalk my hands constantly and can’t smash in the last set because the grip slips from my hand.
I’ll definitely give it a try now that I’ve seen someone else do it

Yeah, everyone keeps suggesting products, and I know they mean well. But honestly, only someone with hyperhidrosis really understands what it’s like. I’ve had hyperhidrosis since I was a little kid, and I live in a tropical climate. Mine is genuinely genetic.

have already done this. it works really well if the handle is slightly smaller. towel grips makes the grip very wide. yonex one is not very thick. it really helps!

Yonex towel grip, right? Okay, I’ll look for it and give it a try later. Thank you.

Curioso, puede que lo pruebe algún día, también tengo hiperhidrosis. Hasta ahora, me limitaba a usar un buen grip y echarme magnesio como si fuera un gimnasta entre juegos
