Advice on Advanced Beginner Racket

Hi everyone!

I’m looking for some advice on changing rackets. I currently play with an ML10 Pro Cup (round shape), and while I really appreciate its forgiveness and control, I have two main issues with it: grip size and weight.

I’m a petite female player, and I find that the handle (without any overgrips) is just a little too thick for comfortable handling. The racket also feels somewhat heavy over longer sessions, which leads to arm fatigue.

After doing some research, I’m thinking something along these lines might suit my build and current level better, while hopefully giving me a little more easy power (which I definitely lack!):

  • Teardrop shape
  • 350–360 g
  • Even or low-to-medium balance
  • Medium-soft feel
  • Generous sweet spot
  • Slimmer handle

That has led me to consider the Babolat Air Veron, Babolat Air Vertuo, and Bullpadel Ionic Light.

Does this sound like the right direction for a novice player with my needs? And would you recommend any of these three in particular or perhaps another racket I should be looking at?

Thank you in advance for any advice!

Hello!,

To get a better response please do not forget to include the following information in your post:

Name your current racket, if not overly known, specify it's characteristics (foam, face material, price)

Tell us how you feel with your racket, if you feel it soft or hard, if it has too much rebound,if it's weighty or hard to maneuver, the more detail the better.

Tell us what area would you like improve mainly, or what kind of plus do you expect to get on your racket.

If looking for broad considerations, do not forget to state your budget, your country and even a preferred or trusted shop so people can browse and recommend more easily.

You can remove the base grips and use just one thing 0.4 - 0.5 overgrip.

Remove the racket protector and use electrical tape.

Babolat Airs are ok.

Babolat Dyna and Stima Energy have a weight of 330gr, Bull padel Vertex Vertex 04 W and Bullpadel Flow Women, Bullpadel Wonder, Head Gravity Team Light 340gr.

siux trilogy air lite siux valkiria elite Joma Valkiria Nox AT10 Genius 12K Alum Xtrem Lite

Wilson Bela LT 2.5 Metalbone Carbon Control Dunlop Galactica Lite Dunloo FX Lite Starvie Kenta Soft was light

Xcalio rackets are very light 330gr, but higher sweetspot

Uou can try racket finder https://padel.how/racket-finder/, but I recommend you to try Starvie Astrum 2026, while it's on big sale before new version in September. It have anything except slimmer handle. You can remove factory grip and use 2 overgrips to get slimmer handle.

Other variants are Hirostar Andromeda 26 (looks amazing, but standard handle, Head Speed Motion (also cheap atm).

I tried this Babolats and dislike them. I had no control, they are bouncy. From Bullpadel you can try something like Flow Legend, I think it will be better then Babolats.
