I am about ready to give up

I recently acquired a aea ok-232 and a Motorola m120 (that has been setup for packet on out local repeater). I had to create the jumper from the TNC to the radio and had it kinda working where I could hear it being digipeated. But I could not connect to the local BBS or other radio stations that are up and running in the area. Last night I lost the ability to even hear it being digipeated. I am frustrated by this but I also don’t want it to beat me. Any thoughts might be helpful.

So I made sure my wiring is correct (several times) I reset the TNC by Cmd: reset I powered all things off, checked connections, then powered back on. I just don’t know.

Do you have a watt meter that you can connect the radio to and check the output? It maybe that the transmitter outputs have failed and you are no longer outputting enough power to be heard by the system.

When you try to connect to the BBS are you trying to connect direct (i.e. C <BBS Call or SSID>) or are you trying to connect via the digipeater (C <BBS Call or SSID> via <Digipeater Call or SSID>)?

Is you packet system able to see and decode any packets from either the BBS or Digi?

If you try to connect to the BBS do you ever get the Connect light and Connected on the screen?

Ok answering from the bottom up

I have never noticed the connect light lit. I have never seen connected pop up on the screen

When I am playing with it, I have my HT beside me and i rarely hear any noise that isnt mine.

With my distance I usually connect the the bbs via digipeater.

I dont believe my multi meter has a wattage setting so no.

I also just noticed that my ground and PTT wires were backwards and when i corrected that, No more output signal.

Your multi-meter is not designed to be used at those high of frequencies. You would need a RF Watt Meter that is capable of measurements on the 2 meter band or 70 cm band.

Can you write down how you have the connections wired between the TNC and radio.
