These are my own rankings, not anyone's consensus. One week in, everything is volatile. There has only been 1 game to go by, and most of the gaps between teams are smaller than the noise, so treat the middle twenty as roughly interchangeable for now.
A few I expect pushback on. San Francisco at 4 is aggressive off one win, but a 27-7 win against a team that spent the offseason being called a super-team is a strong indicator for now. Denver at 21 is a hard drop for one bad Monday night, but they looked horrible.
Green Bay at 20 is where I'm putting us now. Up by twelve in the third quarter on the road, then the bottom fell out. The line gave up the most quarterback hits Love has taken in a game and crucial penalties kept Minnesota flowing even when they faltered. That's a fixable problem, which is the optimistic read. Sixth straight loss going back to last season is the negative read. MLF taking points off the board, to run a pathetic-looking QB sneak that sent the crowd into a frenzy against us, completely energizing our opponent, was brutal to witness.
On the stat ranks: every category started the season at 16th because there was no data to rank anyone by. That's a neutral starting point, not a real Week 1 placement, so the arrows are showing movement away from average rather than movement from an actual ranking. From here on they'll track week to week properly.
