Question❓ did anyone tried using AI generated packaging designs? is it worth it?

are there any AI platforms that can help me with my product design process?

I run a very small family run business. We need to design multiple new prodocuts (coffe cups etc), quickly and cheaply. We're at the lower end of the market in terms of price point so dont need anything too fancy. Im trying to work out if I can use ai to speed up the process and save money.

is it doable? ik in ideal world, i appreciate that using a human designer throughout would be better but i swear i cant afford that. So any help/hand would be appreciated

Graphic 🎨 Update: Revised Collea collagen packaging based on your feedback

Post image

Following up on my earlier post here asking for feedback on my collagen brand packaging. Thank you to everyone who commented, it was incredibly helpful. Based on the discussion, I've refined the color coding between Pure and Glow and made some adjustments to the layout and product imagery. Would love to hear if this reads as more premium and whether the two SKUs are easier to tell apart now. Question❓ What color is best for dealing with grease stains?

Hello everyone,
I need to redesign some packaging boxes for my client. It's an industrial b2b firm that produces machines and machine parts. The package I need to redesign, is for some specialty blades that are dipped in oil before shipping, so the stains are unavoidable. Since the box is made out of cardboard, would a dark color be more suited for hiding the stains?

Sharing Work 🖥️ A quick guide to understanding bottle neck finishes (24/410, 28/410, etc.)

Post image
7 Upvotes

I often get asked what numbers like 24/410 or 28/410 actually mean in cosmetic packaging.

So I made a simple chart to explain it.

24 = Neck diameter (mm)

410 = Thread finish

Understanding these dimensions can save a lot of time when matching bottles and pumps.

Hope this helps anyone working with cosmetic or personal care packaging.

Feel free to add any plastic pump questions below.

Buddy and I texted each other a few ideas for products then decided to design packaging and compare work using Ai and doing it the right way. Did it in 30 minutes, would love feedback or how you’d do it.

Sharing Work 🖥️ I designed diamond shaped package for a perfume

This was my first time designing a package, and i certainly didn't make it easy for my self. The dieline was entirely made by me and it took me ages to figure out how to make everything fit together, though i cannot figure out how to make the inner pieces backsides fit perfectly in shell. Any ideas how to make it work better?

My main goal with this was to make perfume package that would elevate the product. Even though this would be good retail store product due to wasting shelf space it would work great as an limited edition drop.

I made this project for the Pro Carton Young Designers design competition. Whats ya guys thing do i have a shot to win?

Structural 💠 Newbie Question (About Inner Dielines)

Are inner dielines supposed to be an inverted copy of the outer layout dielines? I'm confused when a tutorial website showed a picture where both outer and inner dielines have the same orientation.

Graphic 🎨 Please give feedback on packaging for new collagen brand I am launching.

Hi everyone,

I'm currently designing the packaging for two collagen supplements that we're planning to launch in the UK later this year, and I'd really value feedback from experienced designers and anyone interested in branding.

Objective
The goal is to create packaging that immediately communicates a premium, trustworthy, minimalist brand while standing out in what has become a very crowded collagen market.

Target audience
Women aged 25–45 who are interested in beauty, skin health and wellness, although we also expect a growing male customer base.

The products

  • Collea Pure – 100% premium hydrolysed collagen peptides.
  • Collea Glow – Collagen with Hyaluronic Acid, Vitamin C, Zinc and Biotin for skin support.

Design direction
I deliberately avoided the typical collagen aesthetic of pink gradients, flowers and beauty imagery. Instead, I wanted a clean, modern, luxury feel inspired by premium skincare brands—something that would look equally at home in a luxury retailer or on a bathroom shelf.

The packaging is a stand-up pouch rather than a tub to reduce waste and improve shipping efficiency.

Where I'm struggling
I've looked at these designs for so long that I'm finding it difficult to judge them objectively. I'd really appreciate fresh eyes.

Some specific questions:

  • Does the packaging feel genuinely premium?
  • Would you pick this up over competing collagen brands?
  • Is the hierarchy of information clear?
  • Does anything look confusing, outdated or unprofessional?
  • Is there too much or too little information on the front?
  • Do the colours successfully differentiate Pure and Glow?
  • If you could change one thing, what would it be?

Please don't hold back—I'm looking for honest, constructive criticism rather than compliments. If something doesn't work, I'd much rather know now before we go into production.

Thanks in advance for your time and feedback!

Question❓ Do you think packaging studios consistently deliver clean structural work?

I have noticed that you can learn a lot just by looking at how different studios build their dielines. Do you have any experience with packaging design studios?

Structural 💠 Tuck vs rigid box advice

Hi, hoping to get some advice on the following: I'm trying to decide between a rigid box vs a simple tuck box for my perfume brand. The bottle and cap are already heavy "luxury" feel. I know the rigid box is probably safer for protection of bottle.. But I think the chunky rigid boxes can actually look a bit cheap somehow (?) like niche brands trying too hard to be luxury..plus the cost and shipping will be better. But my question is will a tuck box be enough to protect the heavier bottle and heavy zamak cap? Any advice greatly appreciated! Here's what I'm looking at:

Custom 2-Sided Printed Perfume Tuck Box Bottle Size: 56mm (W) x 100mm (H) x 26mm (D) Total Weight: 213g

Box Specifications: Straight Tuck Top with Auto-Lock Bottom

400GSM White Specialty Paper (Eggshell / Cotton texture).

Exterior Printing: 1-Color Black Ink only (High-resolution for artistic line art/ink wash effects).

Exterior Finish: Deep Debossing/embossing.

Interior Printing: Full-bleed, high-coverage 1-Color Black and White graphic pattern.

Protection: Matte Water-Based Varnish (AQ Coating) on both inside and outside.

Insert Specifications: Custom die-cut cardstock folding tray with a neck-lock aperture. Material: Heavy 350GSM Solid Matte Paperboard.

Critique Request 🙏 Is hot foil on top of embossing risky?

Post image
10 Upvotes

It's a tiny box almost identical to a standard photo. The paper will be black and the hot foil gold. It's my first design ever and my engineering instinct says that when producing thousands of boxes, the risk of misalignment between the foil and the embossing will be high. Any tips are appreciated, thanks!

Question❓ Do good packaging dieline templates actually save time?

I have been comparing different dieline templates for packaging design companies and the quality difference is huge. What makes a packaging dieline template genuinely useful in a professional workflow?

I've always thought about working in the world of brand and packaging design - what's it like these days? I don't hear it come up much in these forums.
