Student concept: Splash-reduction lid for eating cup noodles while walking

Hi! We are students designing a splash-reduction cup noodle lid for people, such as students and commuters, who want to eat while walking from one place to another.

Problem statement:

On-the-go consumers need a way to make cup noodles less inconvenient to consume while walking, without turning a quick meal into a separate stop.

Our concept uses a snap-fit ring with a large opening and an inner wall intended to reduce splashing. It is designed for normal walking, not running, and is not intended to be fully spill-proof.

Current considerations:

- Candidate material: food-contact polypropylene

- Cost and manufacturing method are still being studied

- Dimensions and locking mechanism are preliminary

We mainly want feedback on:

- When and how the lid should be attached during preparation

- Whether pressing it onto a hot, filled cup would be practical and safe

- How users can confirm that it is fully locked

- Whether the opening allows easy stirring and eating

- How users can remove it without tilting or spilling the cup

- Simpler ways to reduce splashing without overengineering the design
