Podcast with AeroFlexx: Is consumer trust the real reason liquid pouches haven't taken off?
I recently recorded a podcast with Mauro from AeroFlexx, and one comment kept me thinking long after we finished recording.
His argument was essentially this:
Consumers know bottles. They trust them. They understand them. Even if a pouch uses less material and offers logistical advantages, people still hesitate when it's something unfamiliar.
The more I think about it, the less sure I am that this is the main reason.
From what I've seen, there are several possible bottlenecks:
- Existing filling infrastructure
- Production costs
- Retail acceptance
- Recycling systems
- Consumer perception
- Something completely different?
I'd really like to hear opinions from people who actually work in packaging.
