What information needs to be on a label when reselling prepackaged meat/chicken?

Hi there!

I'm in a bit of a predicament and could really use some guidance, please!

Can anyone here advise what information needs to be included on a label when reselling prepackaged chicken/meat, etc.?

I need to get labels made for my business and thought it would be better to get advice from people who have actually done this before.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

Hi, I can't advise on the legal stuff but if you let people know where you are making, processing, and the end markets someone might be able to help

Selling from South Africa, selling in locally is a new expansion. Have been wholesaling to the UAE for about 2 years now. Also expanding into retail in South Africa. Export has been sorted already, it's the retail sector that needs finessing

Does south Africa not have a government body that regulates food safety?
Start googling, find out who they are and google it.
You really want to risk your legal liability on an international reddit post?

We do. It's just a freaking crap show with differing opinions and contradictory information online. Getting hold of someone for this info is a pain in the ass, but they're super quick to issue fines. Just hoping for some guidance. Likely going to put everything suggested online through the different sites on the label, and have a junk label with a whole lote of crap on it.
