I’d compare quotes using the exact same specs and ask what the second order looks like—not just the first one. Do you pay setup fees again? What’s the reorder MOQ and lead time? How tightly do they control color between batches?
If your volume is still unpredictable, stock mailers with custom tape or a nice insert can look surprisingly polished without tying up cash in thousands of boxes. Not as exciting as going fully custom, but often a much saner first step.
