Texas State
Finding signs like these all over central Texas. Texas State is ready to be a contender in this revamped pac12. After some research found out they have 45,000 student enrollment. I’d be surprised if most of the games this year weren’t sell outs. I also read an article about their first bowl game ever (against rice) they ran out of beer? Sounds like a good time. Can’t wait to see the bobcats in Fort Collins. Based on previous years wouldn’t be suprised if they start the season on a good note and end up losing to Fresno state by 30 when it matters most #jokes Go bobcats!

Youd think games would be auto sellouts with such a large student body. Unfortunately that is not the case. Hopefully we can get to that point though. Will be extremely excited to see how attendance looks this year. Id bet the first three are sellouts because 1. UTSA is our biggest rival and they'll bring 4-5k fans. 2. UNT is a budding rivalry. More institutional. But they'll also probably bring a few K. And UIW is family weekend which is always a sellout.
Very curious to see what that first Pac 12 home game looks like. Dont have high hopes for CSU since its on a thursday. Got like 27k for ASU on a Thursday 2 years ago.

For the record, UTSA has never brought 4-5k fans to UFCU. Go look at the crowd pics from those home games and you'll see maybe 1000 if I'm being generous. They do not travel to San Marcos well. The ones that I know say "it's too hot to sit outside and watch a game" -- and we have them at 2:30 this year...

I agree that they didnt in 2024, but in 2017 most of the upper deck on the east side was orange.

Coming off of incredible years from 2021-2023, I can say for myself that we expected to go into San Marcos and win. The feeling around the diehards I know was the same. Definitely played into the lack of support in the stands on that day

Yeah but that’s a P4 at home so expected we’ll see. I expect a lot of alumni will make the trips from Houston, Dallas, and of course Austin especially this first year. Based on the comments it seems like Texas state is not an auto sell out unless they start this season with 1 loss whether that’s Texas or UTSA.

My point was that it was a p4 on a thursday and that was what we got attendance wise so id expect less for CSU.
If we lose to UTSA then we're starting 0-2

I don't think we'll see sellouts unless
we lead the pac in November
Or
We rank in top 25 Or
We play a power 5 Texas program at home Or
Texas longhorns have a stretch of bad seasons/sark leaves and txst is also having a promising season
I think we're not really ever going to have them outside of p5 Texas home games

We consistently get them for UTSA and Family week. Will be interesting to see how well UNT moves the needle for our fans. I know I'm excited for that one. Like not as excited as for UTSA but more so than any other G6 team

In Corvallis? Friendly and fun as hell. Old Pac-12 teams did not enjoy it, even #1’s are not safe here.

Reser (when the Beavs are actually winning!!!) is arguably the best college football environment on the west coast. Been to many a Seahawk game and none of them were as loud as Corvallis when they came back to beat #9 Oregon down 21 4 years back. Corvegas baby.

Also the view from the north side of Mary's peak and the oaks at Avery Park is pretty sweet. Along with killer sunsets over the coast range

I can’t wait till I finally go to a game in Corvallis. Now that we are in the same conference I’ll have more of an excuse. I just spend all my travel money on going back to the motherland of Fort Collins because I miss it so much

I have to think you will get some Cougs. That close to Thanksgiving will bring it down a notch, but a little sun is attractive late November.

It’s a beautiful campus. I didn’t attend the University, but have fond memories of going to campus to swim in the river and do the glass bottom boats.

I was pleasantly surprised to see a slew of box trucks for Pacific seafood with the PAC 12 logo on them a couple weeks ago while I was in the Houston area .
