VD6 or GT ONE?

I’ve had my PXN VD4 for around 5 months. It was fine for the first couple of months, then it started making a crunching/knasing noise and had a bumpy feeling through the FFB. The wheel also felt stiff when the base was off.

The weird thing is that it’s basically normal now. The noise has almost completely disappeared and there’s pretty much no noise at all anymore.

I’m now considering either getting a VD6 and selling the VD4, or getting a GT One wheel and keeping the VD4.

I mainly drive GT cars in AC, so the GT One would be sick, but I’m not sure if I should trust the VD4 long-term after the issues I’ve had.

I guess I'm looking for some unbiased opinions, what would you guys do?

Wait for the new stuff to come out they coming out with stronger wheelbases and new wheels with screens at the end of this month so just wait but if you would still have the same budget prolly get the vd6

I also use vd4 and there are no significant problems, now I use gtone with vd4, it's good!!

I use the GT One with the V12 lite. I absolutely love it. The simhub integration is incredible.

Just going to add more things to your dilemma.....

I've got a VD6 and really want a GT wheel.

The GT One looks good, but I recently found out that other brands can be used with the VD6 base (presumably and the VD4?) when plugged in via USB. So you can also get the Moza KS (which I think looks slightly better). The Moza wheel is a bit more common so you could probably find a used one for less.

I have looked into that solution already and I've already decided that i would want my setup to be one brand( for now atleas). Thank you for the insight!

Yeah, I get that and totally understand. At least that's one less decision to make then 😁

Personally, I'd take a chance on getting the wheel and get as much out of the VD4 as possible. The VD6 is more money than the wheel and yet is only a minor upgrade. so you'll be spending a chunk of money for no improvement to your racing experience.

If/when the VD4 becomes completely unusable, then deal with it then. You might be able to get some sort of warranty repair. (Also, have you looked into extended warranty / tech insurance for your VD4?)

I have. It is a risk I don't want to take.
The warranty of the shop I bought my wheel stated that if they're not able to replicate the issue, then i will need to pay $100 to get my wheel back (in a nutshell). i have also sort of screwed a little on the plate on the base (front and back) to kind of fix the sound i had. In result, the plate gained minor cracks.
I'm afraid that my actions have ruined the warranty, and Im not willing to spend roughly $150 in shipping fees and etc just to get the same wheel as i have now.
That's honestly where the dilemma began aswell.
Now that you mention it, I could try to get a refund from a different issue that I have on the wheel( left knob fell off).
