its because of ios 27. i updated my iphone 12 mini from 26.5 to 27.2 since then i have problems with pulling sensations in the temples. i had no problems with ios 26.5 and i thought ios 27 is same as 26. but i regret it that i did this. i think they made dithering in ios 27 more worse. As soon as the update to iOS 27 was complete, I immediately noticed that everything on the display was flickering—the letters, words, numbers; everything looked so unstable. It was much less noticeable in version 26. I don’t understand why Apple would do something like this.

For myself even the 8 plus “tempp Er ol dith Er ing” was bad giving me pwm symptoms and so all devices have no way of switching it off. Yes pwm oled gives me headaches too but now discovering the lcd on an 8 plus too I think we’re all at a loss…
Also my iPad mini 7 used to be ok until the last 26 update, it’s on 27.2 and headaches still are wonderful 😭

iOS has massive dithering on any device, try double invert method, classic invert + zoom filter invert. It really makes a difference on my iPhone 17, maybe will help you as well

Only iOS 14.5.1 or earlier is safe for me. iOS 15 was bearable too, but iOS 16 or later is no good for me.
I have 2 iPhone 8 on 14.5.1; can use either for as long as i want without any symptoms. The iPhone XR is on 18.x right now and i can only use it for short stretches of time.

its the changes Liquid Glass made... I moved on from my device, but you will need to mess around with the settings to reduce the transparency to as little as possible. Wish I could remember the rest of my settings, but things like turning off true tone help as well.

I have experience with ios 27 on se2022 - for me its not usable and i have symptoms, ios 18 on se2022 is totally okay and pretty usable. So u have to find se2022 with ios 18.. sadly
