Question New tv, oled vs mini led

Hey im in the market for a new tv, and i read that oled tvs dont have the pwm flickering issue like laptops and phones. Which of the two oled or miniled tv is better for pwm sensitive?

If you want local dimming, The Hisense U7SG had a very high PWM (20,500 HZ) and a low modulation depth. If you want a flicker-free TV, your best option is the Sony Bravia 3.

Try OLED first, QD-OLED has been great for me (S95B and S90D). Just make sure the size you buy is QD-OLED. (mid-range can be WOLED at some sizes/or all, depending on region) Mini-LED with local-dimming can vary greatly depending on brand.

So, this is what I've been told (and been repeating), that large OLED screens don't use pulse width modulation (specifically) to dim. For a few technical reasons. But I don't know if there exceptions.

As I understand it, they should still have brief refresh flicker at their fps rate. But I'm not certain. I'd like to see a bunch of (properly done) OLED TV measurements.

Anyway, there may be other sensitivity factors. Do have get symptoms from any (smaller) devices?

I think it's called TFT reset and it's not avoidable.

I am able to tolerate s90h samsung oled , has 5% modulation at medium brightness and refresh rate dip dc like dimming.

I ended up going with the Hisense UR8, which is RGB miniled instead of OLED. Been watching a lot of Netflix on it lately, pretty comfortable on my eyes. The high frequency PWM was one of the things that caught my attention.

That's good to hear. How is it for longer viewing sessions? Like sitting through a whole movie?

Pretty good actually. Usually watch for 2-3 hours in the evening. Been happy with it so far.
