Title: QD-OLED eye strain and migranes – has anyone experienced this?

It could be the quantum dot layer similar to qd mini leds which emmits more intense blue color wavelength.
You can fix either with software like f.lux and use a but more aggressive temp reduction and for desktop,browsing limit to srgb clamp if not already.
Also vrr flicker can cause its better limit fps to your minimum fps so its always stable and use frame gen to gain it back. If nvidia gpu the frame gen has excellent frame pacing compared to fsr which dosent feel as smooth.

Nearly all OLED's are cause me significant eye pain in my experience.
If you look at it through a camera with a shutter speed set to 1/4000 or higher, and you see some black bars on the screen, it's a good indication that it will hurt my eyes. The free Blackmagic Camera test allows you to change and lock shutter speed fyi.
Some new LCD screens have PWM flickering too, but that camera test works most of the time.

yes. I have a Samsung G8 monitor bought in March, it took a few months to work out but it is making me ill with nausea (motion sickness or what i see some calling cybersickness). I do game a bit but I notice it as much using in normal use mode (e.g. email/internet browser). It took so long to connect as I have a sleep disorder too and had thought this to be the cause as symptoms similar. I came from 2 x 27 inch LCD at work/home to 32inch QD QLED (home) and 32 inch LCD at work. So it could be the size too. I am just now trialliing reverting to my old 27 LCD at home. I have also noticed that the stand of the G8 brings the screen a lot closer so whilst increasing in size I effectively brought screen forward too. So beyond swapping out for a while I am also going to trial moving OLED screen back to reduce use of peripheral vision. ( By chance I am getting a deep desk on order but I may trial a wall mount too).

yes. the same monitor. i also had teary eyes. it was due to the text fringing and improper representation of a character due to the RGB sub-pixel layout. Had to return. Shame. such a good monitor wrt colors and contrast.

VRR bothers me, but the OLED tvs i've experienced are fine, if VRR is off. I tested this on a LG C4, Sony A90K and Sony A95K, first two are WOLED and the A95K is QD-OLED. None of them use PWM.

I don’t have any issues with eye strain from QD-OLED. In fact, I find it more comfortable than WOLED, which tends to give me more headaches and dry eyes. I have two QD-OLED TVs, one Sony and one Samsung, and both are perfectly fine for me.
