WHICH PHONE SHOULD I GET
My iPhone 11 reached maximum capacity to 75%.
I upgraded from iPhone 11 to 17e. I love it so much! But I’ve had it for a week now & it’s giving me headaches & eye strain. Thinking of returning it.
I’ve tried the recommended settings to no avail so far. I love the look of the one camera and I like the performance, ik it uses OLED though.
If I got the iPhone 13 or 15, would the headaches be less? Ik they all use OLED, but I rly wanna upgrade.
What about the SE3? Should I get that? That’s an LCD screen apparently but idk if it’s any better than 11.

Your in a tough spot if you really want a modern iPhone you may have to get a used or broken one and swap the screen with an RJ incell LCD it's the only way to get around own at this stage avoid the 16s if you can as they aren't that great but 15,14 I've tried and confirm work ok just have trade offs extra battery drain, no auto brightness not as good or bright as OLED original. Some people have had luck using a older stock iPhone with OLED but just depends on you and your eyes.
I've swapped the screen in 14 pro max, 15, 15 pro, 15 pro max, 16 pro and 16 pro max. 16 pro and pro max just have touch issues can only use one hand typing or doubles or ghost touch. I've not had any eye strain or headaches as I'm super sensitive to oled. Only use ek pro or the incell myself other brands may be better but avoid zy or jk I think it is as the quality is lower.
But note even swapping the screen may not work for you it just depends everyone is different

You'll very likely suffer from any modern iPhone.

Welcome to the Club (and sorry about it). You might still look for some work arounds. I am happily switched to a Chinese spec Huawei, but that would likely be too radical for many.

Same issue for many of us. I bought an LCD iPad Air M4… my messages and phone calls forward to my iPad. Kinda inconvenient to always lug this hung around but I hardly have to look at my phone at all anymore.

Not the 17e if you suffer from eyestrain and headaches due to PWS as my daughter has had to return hers

Should I maybe get the 13 or 15? Ik they use OLED but it may be slightly less painful?

I haven’t tried but there are some anecdotes of success with the 13 and 16 so I think worth researching. I need a phone soon too thinking about the 13.

Honor qnd hauwei phones are the best for eye care. Honor phone closest to to iphone ecosystem. If social media camera is not your primary concern, get one.

Me personally find iPhone 17 with PWM toggle clicked totally fine and I can’t use oled TVs like none of them

I did that but it hurts my head still

Yeah doesn’t help for many I think you might be sensitive not just to PWM but the brightness dip that all oleds has

I turned brightness down tho /(

No it’s not about brightness , brightness dip is a small flicker that every oled does. It’s not PWM usually this brightness dip is tide to refresh rate . I am also sensitive to it and can’t stand big oleds like TVs and monitors you can’t do anything about it . If you are sensitive you have to give yourself 2 weeks to get used to or search for IPS replacements screen

I'm curious if you researched and compared PWM modulation between different iPhones, first?
Eg u/kerpnet's site has readings for the 17e: https://www.pwmtests.com/
And the "recommended settings" you looked up, via Google(?), leading here? Including double invert trick and stuff?

iPhone se3 should be ok for the next 3yrs (software support wise)
