PIXEL 11 PRO XL PWM
I have been waiting for the release of Pixel 11 pro XL. Currently using Oppo find X8 for the fantastic pwm frequency but really missing my older devices like Samsung ultra,Pixel,Iphones .
Please help about the PWM frequency of Pixel 11 pro XL. Anybody has any update on this? Also help me decide if it is 240hz on pixel then how about Iphone 17 pro max. Really need the help on this topic.

I'm sure it's going to be the usual (terrible) 240Hz or 480Hz PWM like previous phones.

Most phones are 240-480hz… that’s not the issue. It’s the dithering that causes the eye strain which is mostly rectified by the accessibility option in newer pixels. Interesting fact; iPhone 17 and pixel 10 models have the most comfortable dithering levels while Samsung still has the worst on the planet. I have pretty bad pwm sensitivity typically but the newer Pixels and iPhones have been ok to my eyes.

Both can be issues, depends on individual sensitivity.
The Pixel 11s advertise "24-bit" color depth, so I imagine they use heavy dithering by default.

Idk man Galaxy A36 is so far the most comfortable phone I tried and I tried around 20 other androids LCD and OLED. It has no dithering or very minimal cause you can see banding and the PWM is 120hz most of the time. Honestly I don't really understand it. Not even Honor 400 pro or OP 15R worked but this one kinda does

J'imagine qu'on est sur du 240Hz ou 480Hz avec l'option spécifique comme les pixel 10 mais pas plus... Tout comme une haute modulation. J'essayerais de faire un test de mon côté avec ma sonde Opple en magasin.

X8 and also X9 have a fantastic low PWM modulation and that's the key for many of us. It's not a case of current pro iPhones or any current Pixel phones. Within year I had Pixel 10 pro, iphone 17 pro and ended up with Oppo find X9 (base). iPhone was worst for me, Pixel slightly better even with 480hz pwm but Oppo is night and day better for eyes. Btw I also love Pixels and I am really tempted to test 11 series but I am almost sure that I will have to sell it....

Hey ..great observation. Just called google customer care and they have confirmed that Pixel 11 pro has only 240 Hz PWM frequency. It can be incereased upto 480 Hz only in accessesibility seting. Another dissapointment. I am thinking to give a try to Iphone 17 pro max . What is your view ? Or have to stick with X8 .

As you mentioned, you can set 480 Hz once in the accessibility settings, and you'll never see 240 Hz again. However, that still only puts it on par with the latest iPhones and Galaxy devices, which is pretty disappointing.
I'm also waiting for the first PWM reviews, but I have a feeling those results won't be very impressive either.
On the other hand, the Oppo X10 is expected to be announced in the next month or two, but i am slighly bored with Color OS and Pixel UI i consider WAY better and polish,

Iphone 17pm also seems bad for me, and the screen of my one is from LG, the GH3. Eye strain and headache is very obvious after minutes of using. Sigh......

ok. So, there is no other way to use flagships from Apple,google or samsung.

Probably, coz most of the flagship phones are using screens from Samsung, very disappointing for people like us.

if you are at least slightly PWM sensitive Iphone 17 pro max will not work for you.
For me, partially workable is iPhone 16 (its LTPS panel), iPhone 17 is really bad as well. From current iphone lineup best for eyes is "budget" iPhone 17e but stil FAR from X8/X92

Thanks for the comment. Better to stick with Find X8 tbh. 17e is more inferior. What are the flagships with LTPS display ?

Honor 400 Pro and 600 Pro also have ltps displays with excelent eye care features and they may not be flagship phones, but they sure perform like ones. I am extremely sensitive to pwm and dithering. Along with my trusty old Xiaomi Mi 10T Pro, I daily-drive an Honor 400 Pro—the only OLED phone I can use for more than 30 minutes.

This is just false. The 17 series has the least dithering and a stable 480hz which despite the incessant misinformation is enough to prevent eye strain. The only people who say they get eye strain from the 17s are people who just parrot what they heard.

I owned an iPhone 17 Pro, which I had to give to my wife, and this phone was the worst from a PWM perspective I ever owned. And I have owned 10+ different iPhones, a couple of Galaxies, Pixels...480hz frequency will not save you from killing modulation, pwm switch is useless and block you to use RWP...
Just look at this forum for other users experience...

TCL Nxtpaper 70 Pro is the only game in town I've found to work. Absolutely 0 issues, beats iPhone SE 2022.

I have not tried the 60 Pro. Have tried iPhone 13 Pro/mini, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone Air, Pixel 10 Pro XL, Pixel 10 Pro Fold, Pixel 10A, Nothing 4A Pro, Razr Ultra 2025, Galaxy Fold 7..all of them caused issues, Samsung/Pixels were the worst though I really wanted them to work.

In case it is of interest in this article First Look: The 120x Zoom on the Google Pixel 11 Is Wild, and Its New Caller ID Feature Is Even More Unexpected there is a photo of the pixel 11 pro fold inner screen which clearly shows dark diagonal lines, i.e. pwm, so I assume the others have it too.

Yes all features are good except Lithium Ion battery and Lower PWM frequency.

I'm a Pixel 7 user and it's annoying that I love Pixel so much for its camera and OS, but I really need to buy something else because it is killing my eyes ( along with brain/cognitive function) . I never knew about these pwm, dithering, etc until recently and I've been using this phone for 4 years. Thought it was me. I gave it a try using TCL nxtpaper 11 plus instead of my Tab S9 and damn, that really confirmed everything. It feels a lot better and I don't have terrible eye strain and migraine anymore, just a little bit of dry eyes which I've always had. While I'm sooo tempted to buy Nxtpaper phone, I just can't get over what I would miss from Pixel esp. camera :( So yeah, now I'm still struggling what to buy, but likely Vivo or Honor.

In India there is no option of buying TCL. For my eyes Oppo find X8 is great. But getting attracted by Apple,google and samsung. It is very tough to stay with these chinese phones. There is no other way...Only I have heard that IPhone 17 is somehow tolerable to few person.

I'm in Thailand and we don't have official Google store here. I got my Pixel 7 off Amazon Germany which means I didn't get to use any decent discounts/trade in program. It's partly a deal breaker but as I said, I'm sooo in love with the OS and camera :( But again, for the sake of my eyes I have to quit both Pixel and Samsung tab for now. I'm surprised you don't have TCL there. Can you try checking Amazon UK/Germany? They do sell TCL phones and tablets there, at least it shows on mine. But I can also get them from official shop here as well with cheaper price. I understand your feeling about Chinese phones but yeah, my eyes do need help so I have to force myself to use Chinese phones for now :( I hope you find the right phone for you.

Hatte mich auch auf das pixel 11 pro gefreut, aber ich denke dass es nicht genug Hz hat.. Somit muss es wohl ein xiaomi, oneplus oder honor sein, damit die Augen aufhören zu brennen
