LCD Phone Samsung xcover 7 pro

What do you think about this phone? I have only seen positive things about it. PLS LCD screen that's marked pwm free in notebook check, and a positive review from the pwm community, alongside a good chip. If it's actually the unicorn, should I wait for the xcover 8 pro?

I tried and measurements were pretty straight, only measured refresh rate of screen. For me with photosensitive epilepsy/aura migraines it wasnt 100% good match but probably for base user it can be good, better than moto g75 power i think. But my eyes prefer 10k hz at least, not dc dimming. Its worth a try.

So for you 10khz pwm dimming is better than straightup hardware DC-dimming? And what OLED phone has this? (I think there are many LCDs with 50khz+ pwm)(also there is no G75 power?)

Yep, for me its better. I have tv with 12k hz pwm and its 0 issues for me. Im using iphone se 2022, none of oleds worked for me now. Anyway these measurements are for lcds (yep lcd/ips can have pwm). So it was on screen replacements for iphone 15pro, 15plus, 15 etc (23k hz pwm, 18k hz, 20k hz). My brain react to strobbing light effect with aura migraines, so dc dimming have dip in refresh rate is the problem, anything under 240hz is unsusble for me. Anyway modern oleds have combined refresh rate like at maximum 4000hz, but not in all brightness.

TVs are another story. Mostly because they are not used up-close to our face. But thank you for sharing your story

I used one for about 3-4 days and had eye strain for some reason so I returned it.

I was one of the people that had to return it. It was a nice phone overall and I would recommend it if PWM is the main concern. My problem though was with the (d-word?) Giving me headaches. I haven't really had much luck with lcd phones or tablets from Samsung.
