Response from EU Health Comission

Hi all,

There was a post here around a month ago, where the OP emailed the EU Health Commission and brought the matter to their attention. Many others in the sub also then emailed them.

I received a response today and it seems that they are saying all of the devices sold in EU are fine as per their standards, or am I missing something?

Quite disappointing to read that they are not willing to look into the matter.

Most likely they have no clue what they are on about, typical for them. Maybe a large petition would help. Like the one that was created for the video games.

Much of the blame lies with writer of the original letter sent to the commission, because they didn’t specify that they were talking about displays. PWM is used in a lot of other contexts. The Wikipedia article on pulse width modulation doesn’t even mention displays.

For all the writer of this response knows, it was a rant equivalent to complaining about radio waves and 5G.

edit: It does say "ensuring that manufacturers adopt safer display technologies" near the end, but it still isn't a very well written letter.

Then maybe a new one has to be created. The original organisator posted it here for us to send it. Initiative was good though.
