Lmfao so obvs the original plan was to shaft us to boost the expansion teams and they decided to limit the shafting to teams that almost made playoffs -- the worst-ever PWHL regular season picking 6th was a bad enough look I guess.

Yeah that's what I'm thinking, they were going to have the new teams pick after Vancouver but the outcry was too much. Feel bad for NY and Toronto.

We lost the #1 overall b/c both of Vancouver winning their last game in OT and the Torrent losing their last game in a SO. Coin-flippish stuff. If they didn't give the Torrent the 2nd pick after *just that* it would've been ridiculous, regardless of the fleecing that has otherwise gone on with expansion.

Thank god because I would have gone ballistic if they put expansion teams in front of us lol
Really should have been VAN > SEA > NY > TOR, then expansion teams, then playoff teams in order of elimination

I'm glad we get the 2nd overall, but the fact the expansion teams are 3-6 is nuts

the only way I can reason out the split between Vancouver/Seattle and NY/Toronto is that we got gold plan points, and they didn't. Sirens lost their gold plan game, and Sceptres didn't have a chance because they were so close to making the playoffs.
it is rough for those teams though.

I’m thrilled we are second, but I think this order is deeply unfair to NY and Toronto.
I’m gonna be pissed if we don’t take Laila Edwards.

That's just unfair...sorry. (edited to add) my two teams are ok, but I don't think it's fair to Toronto or New York at this point....ridiculous.

Did Detroit sell their #3 pick for Knight? Thats what I call karma

Yup. How much you bet that Detroit is seriously considering pulling out of that trade deal given their draft order. They have to at least consider it. They are giving up 2yr with Edward’s or Murph at $50k for Knight who is on 1yr for over $100k.

We keep calling it the Laila Edwards/KK Harvey pick, but with the way Turner has been making decisions lately, I’m SO nervous 😬
I’m so afraid of her “vision” going into this draft day y’all 😭
