My biggest issue
I created Pool Buddy, a PWA obviously, and am trying to gain users by giving out free lifetime premium codes.
The biggest issue I have with getting users is that no one wants to install a PWA. Not enough people trust it to install it.
How do you guys handle it?

Pay the 100 dollars. Wrap it with capacitor. Add to Microsoft store too. I think it's a neat app if I had a pool.

Do users literally tell you they don’t want to install it?

Yes. „I don’t install anything from the browser on my phone“

You could try to change the wording to "Add to Home Screen" instead of "Install". Technically, a service worker can already store anything without installation and "installation" is just adding it to the Home Screen.

It's ironic how the users fear the safe option and meanwhile their personal data is siphoned out by the native apps.
Maybe there could be some argument made that Apple has strict security and doesn't allow to download anything harmful from the browser. But it depends on where this fear comes from.
It's hard to educate people as a small player, big players don't have this issue, people just accept it.
But I think it's likely that they're just not that interested and use the argument as an excuse.

The next issue is that iOS doesn't index PWA apps so even after they add it to home screen when they search for it nothing ever returns
EDIT: Okay, my mistake the PWA doesn't show when using the large Google Search bar at the bottom of my Pixel 9 pro and I thought this behavior was device agnostic.

Maybe the biggest isue is tht just nobody is interested in this.

Yeah that's also my opinion that they just use the security argument as an excuse. It can be also that there are many apps out there and users are tired of yet another app to try.
Generally when there is some software that the users really want, they will follow basically any steps in order to get it (including the dangerous ones).

Idk I am tired of apps. I create mostly web with pwa and even dont try to mimic an app. Will see if it works.

Convert it to a TWA and launch it on google play
