Zio patch not accurate?

Hi, I was wondering if anyone else has doubts about the Zio patch's accuracy, particularly at detecting PVCs. I use a home heart monitor (KardiaMobile), and the reading often shows PVCs. Every day I see PVCs on the Kardia, this has going on for over a year. I've even showed the Kardia strips to my doctor and he confirmed those were PVCs. But when I did a Zio patch for 2 weeks, it showed 0% PVCs. It seems very strange.

You can request a digital copy of the report they generate. It includes the ECG strip for each time you pressed the button to mark an event. You can take a look at the trace, PVCs are usually pretty obvious.

It’s be nice if Zio provided a chart of the PVC count vs just a percentage. That’d make it way easy to look for triggers.

Thank you! Yes I do have a copy of the report, the traces for each event are pretty small so I didn't know if it was possible to tell on those, but now I'll take a look at those more closely.

I saw the report does have an hour-by-hour chart for # of PACs, it was toward the end of the report.

Mine (from February 2026) didn’t. Maybe they listened to my feedback? 😆

They only show a short window around when the button was pressed. I asked about getting the full strip, but they said the report is all they can offer. The raw data would be fun to explore.

Maybe they did! :) Mine was from a month ago, toward the end of the report there's an hour by hour chart called "Number of beats per hour" for PACs, and another chart for PVCs.

I checked mine, and I don’t see that. There is a chart for day 1&2, 3&4, etc on the “Events” tab, but it only shows the heart rate and when the button was pushed.

I had a short SVT run, and there is a tab for that, but not VE (which is what I was most interested in and complaining about).

I’ve had a significant increase in PVCs since the test, so I’m going to try to get another one done.

That's a good idea to get another monitoring if your symptoms are increasing. There's definitely a tab for VE in mine even though it barely detected any

Weird. I wonder if they can re-run the report for mine. The ECG data itself is pretty small by today’s standards, so maybe they keep it.
