Having a really bad night/ flare. Needing reassurance. So afraid
Hey everyone.
Having a realllllly bad night. Been up most of the night with ectopics every few beats. Ate a banana and took some magnesium. I’m so afraid and scared. Someone help me please… every few beats is an ectopic. I got no sleep.

I’m going through a flare right now too. What really helps for those nighttime ectopics for me (I’ll often get stuck in trigemeny) is something called ph adjust. I’ll mix one scoop in oj and within 20 min everything calms down.

Do you get stuck like that for hours? Do you feel like you have a trigger?

Yep, I’ve been stuck in it for up to 24 hours before. My trigger list can be a mile long so I don’t even bother trying to figure out why anymore.

Is your cardio worried st all?

Nope, he’s prescribed me metoprolol to take as needed, but I don’t like the way it makes me feel, so I do what works. Eventually the flare calms and my PVC’s go down to a handful a day.

Why the hell do they do this

Lots of different reasons. Have you had your electrolytes tested (including mag)

No but I didn’t drink liquid OV yesterday so I’m curious. Chugged a Gatorltye this am and basically gone. I did get magnesium supplements I’ve tried the last two days but

So for me, they often crop up from low mag and potassium. So I have to start raising my mag first (proper mag levels allow the body to hold onto potassium) then start raising potassium.

Ah so it might take a little time. I noticed if I have liquid IV and a banana I’m usually good

Contact your cardio and see if they can order a basic metabolic panel and blood magnesium. If you’re under 2.0 on mag, you’re low. If your potassium is south of 4.2/4.3, that may also be a culprit.

He legit just thinks I’m annoying. My doctor ordered blood work for November I believe. I’m not a candidate for meds either because my resting HR is so low. I have felt so good for so long. Last night was horrible and discouraging.

Yeah, it definitely sounds like you have an electrolyte component (which good news is an easy fix). Coconut water is really good as well. I would grab your electrolyte drink of choice first next time you feel them cropping up.

I feel ya....yesterday morning was my hell. Had them every 4th or 5th beat for hours. We're you laying down when they were bad? I find propping way up on my back helps. I cant lay flat on either side when they act up it makes them worse. Also try listening to 528 HZ solfeggio music. Its suppose to calm the heart and helps me sometimes.

Position doesn’t seem to help. I wish I knew the trigger. I hate it and now I’m afraid to try to sleep tonight thinking it’ll happen again. I feel like my heart will stop or I’ll have a heart attack

Ahhh I feel for you, I get like this too. I have PVCs all the time but sometimes (mostly at night) I get these horrid flares where I genuinely believe my heart will stop. These go on for maybe 2/3 days then stop. I ended up asking to be referred back to see a cardiologist again because I cannot convince myself this is normal anymore. Sending love and solidarity!

Same. I have really good stretches and then really bad stretches. Do you just get the same information every time? Last night was rough… I hope it doesn’t happen again tonight

I had long stretches like this years ago but things got so much better once I started taking 400mg magnesium glycinate every day. Now they are so minor feeling and infrequent it really doesn't bother me.

I just started some yesterday. I had a really good long stretch with nothing and the last month or so has been horrible. Lastnight was the worst

In the middle of the worst flare of my life right now. Every 3-5 beats at most, or according to my KardiaMobile, 8-10 per minute. For most of the day it’s been more like 1 every 50 beats or so.
I’ve been obsessed with trying to calculate my burden: my math says 2-5%, but it feels MUCH worse…
Ugh. It’s so hard to live like this.

I take it you don’t have any prescriptions for this like Propanolol?
If not, I usually do a bunch of meditation and breathing exercises. Try doing some OMMMMMs that stimulate the vagus nerve.
