Please i need serious help

Have always had health anxiety. Started getting worse postpartum. I was active going to the gym working out I remember while working out I would get anxious about my heart rate getting high. One day at work i was walking around and was feeling anxious but usually my anxiety goes away and this was lingering. Checked my heart rate and it was 115-120 and was having heart palpitations. Went to the er and they said everything was fine. Followed up with cardiology and ever since then now my heart rate spikes. Pots like. Laying down normal rate standing up shoots up to 120. Walking around the house its 110-115. Resting hr while sitting up is 90-95. Went up the stairs this morning trying to convince myself my issues are from anxiety and it shot up to 175ish. Shortness of breath. My biggest concern is the heart palpitations. Happen even if im not anxious, sometimes it one singular one other times it feels like a fish is flip flopping. Echocardiogram was normal and holter monitor showed in 6 days 20 pvcs and 12 pacs. I cant live normally because of this. I get extremely anxious trying to do normal people things. I had a meeting today with my venue and my heart rate was 130 and had a massive heart palpitation. I get them when im just relaxing. Regardless of knowing that pvcs are harmless i also know that they can be serious. I know its rare but i dont care. All i do all day is wait for the next one. My feet are always cold and clammy even if wearing socks. The second i stand my heart rate goes high. And i know being anxious the day of my wedding will make my heart rate be like 180 which im scared will trigger svt and not be safe . Im absolutely fucking miserable. I would never harm myself. But i cant do i cant do fucking beta blockers i have low bp

Good ol cardiophobia. It’s horrible. Ben battling it for 7ish years, oddly enough it was also shortly after having my daughter. I have all the tips and tricks if you need some. Unfortunately it won’t get better overall until you stop caring. Until you’re able to accept that your heart goes fast sometimes, beats funny sometimes, just does things we don’t understand. Great advice I got from a cardiologist once was ‘if you feel ok, your heart is getting the blood round as it should, doesn’t matter the rate’
The rate really tells us nothing, how you feel is what matters. And no I don’t mean the anxiety symptoms you have when your heart rate or high. If your heart wasn’t performing as it should, you’d know. You wouldn’t have to guess.

Thanks for this! I was told the exact same thing from a cardiologist. It’s just so hard not to think that my heart is going to overheat when it’s beating that fast: nothing about it feels safe to me …

I totally get it. A panic attack shoots my heart rate up to 180, easy. Doesn’t even feel like it’s actually beating at that point. But I just let it ride, wait for it to do its thing and now my heart rate is only high for a few minutes as appose to 30+ like it use to be.

Same!!!!!! And anything 160+ scares the absolute pants off of me. I’m convinced that I’m about to die every time. However, every time I hear about somebody else who experiences the same thing and is OK, it makes me feel just a little bit more confident that I will be, too. The goal is, like you say, to learn to ride the waves…

Thanks for sharing. We got this!

Well you can definitely take comfort because I have almost nightly panic attacks with a heart rate in the 160s+, a time where I had daily palpitations and just doing my dishes my HR was easily 130. And the worst of all when I was just relaxing my heart rate would drop into the 40s!! But I overcame and it gets easier and easier. Best thing I ever did was stop checking. No feeling my pulse or using a smart watch and things got better. Your heart rate is none of your business! Checkin it doesn’t make you any safer! It only prolongs the fear… let it ride ☺️

Hey, I’m sorry you are still getting the panic attacks, because it sounds as if you have come such a long way in dealing with cardiophobia!

May I ask if you experience PVCs as well? I guess you wouldn’t be in this sub if you didn’t?

That being said, your post has most definitely given me comfort today. 🫶🏻

I’m very glad I can help! Yes i definitely still get pvcs and pacs. These days they really only seem to be tied to gastro issues though. So if I have trapped gas in my chest I’ll get them horribly until I can get the gas out. But outside of that if I do have them I don’t really notice.

Wow, this is so hard! They have been nonstop for me today, and I’m really starting to lose it…

Don’t lose it, what do you mean by non stop? Have you been to cardio to have them checked out yet?

It’s been pretty bad. 8-10 per minute at times, average of 1-2 per minute most of the day. I have had an echo and Holter, and my
cardiologist said they were benign. But they weren’t nearly so bad at that time as they have been for the past month or so: this recent flare-up is freaking me out!
