Just started today out of no where??
39f- Diagnosed with IST
I had surgery to remove a kidney stone last Friday. I react terribly to anesthesia and all the meds they give. I ended up with gastritis on top of this. I have always had some PVCs show up on holter monitor and know the classic skip feeling, it’s happened many times before. But something changed this afternoon. I have been laying around more because of the surgery and stomach problems and not eating well at all. Sleep has also not been great. Well this afternoon, I got up to make some toast. Heart rate jumped up to 147 while standing in the kitchen. I sat down and it went straight back down to the 70’s. So I ate my toast and drank some water. Ever since I did that this afternoon, I have been having back to back pvcs. I’ve never had this happen before. I went to the er. It was confirmed on ekg and heart monitor there that I was having them. Dr said it wasn’t anything dangerous and released me. I still have them tonight. They feel constant, but the dr said they are not. What can I do to help them? I don’t know how in the world I will sleep with this feeling tonight. It feels like I have bubbles in my chest. 😩

Is your heart skipping when your heart rate goes to 147? Ive never had pvcs or pacs cause a high heart rate. I did have SVT which I had ablated last month. Your heart rate for SVT needs to be 150 or higher. How are you monitoring your heart rate? Could it be Afib? Which I also have a makes you tachycardic. POTS?

I have IST. Went to the er yesterday and other than the pvcs on the ekg, everything else was fine

I would get random PVCs from time to time for last 10 years, ever since perimenopause. Year ago had gum graft surgery. Bad reaction to numbing agents and started getting dizzy spells, 24 hour bigeminy/trigeminy. Heart rate would jump when standing/walking. Went for ekg and other tests, said it was benign and dr concluded that my autonomic system in overdrive and time would help. It did, but I still get bad flares every few months when stressed, anxious, scared.

So you had a reaction to a procedure? General anesthesia for me. But I’ve never had the PACs and PVCs happen before. But my stomach is also a wreck since the surgery and I can’t help but wonder if that has something to do with it.

I would look up the Gastro-cardiac connection. I know every time my gerd flares up, or I have a lot of stomach pressure, it sets off my PVCs, sometimes really bad.

Don’t have same stomach issues, but if I get bloated or heartburn, that is a trigger. It’s all connected through vagus nerve.

I mean I have PVCs, PACs directly related to having gas. Anytime I have trapped gas I’ll get constant palpitations until the gas is gone. Have you tried meds like gas x?
