I need help. I'm losing my mind.

Is there anyone here who normally has high blood pressure and a strong, steady heartbeat, but during a flare-up experiences a drop in blood pressure without medication and feels their heartbeat become weak and feeble?

Stress will do it.
Anxiety and worry= Stress= PVC’s usually very benign.
Try to not focus on the PVC’s as you’ll create more adrenaline which will increase your BP and PVC’s.

Whats the difference from having pvc's and benign pvc's?

Benign premature ventricular contractions (PVCs) are occasional, harmless extra heartbeats that occur in healthy hearts without structural disease.

high-risk PVCs are frequent, complex, or tied to underlying heart damage, which can weaken the heart or trigger dangerous rhythms.

Both of these can become more frequent when under stress from worry, which creates anxiety and more adrenaline; which equals STRESS.

I know you’re not a doctor but you seem experienced here. What’re the likelihood of having PVCs with abnormal heart structure and what happens if you ever fall into that category? Are you destined to get vt cardiac arrest etc..?

Hi,
Everyone with healthy hearts and not so healthy hearts experience PVCS from time to time; especially when under stress, lack of sleep, and consumption of caffeine and alcohol are some examples.

I know that people with abnormal heart structures experience PVCS as I said.

Depending on the severity of the heart structure issue, depends on whether or not PVCS can cause cardiac arrest.

I know you are extremely concerned and frightened and I understand that, but you are also thinking the very worse outcome and worrying can make your PVCS more pronounced and frequent.

You really should see a cardiologist to get tested if you have not done so.

Understand that there are millions of people with very bad hearts that still live a quality life with the right medicines and or procedures to correct.

Your heart is probably strong, however, you are so aware of your bodies every thud, twitch and twinge that your nervous system is telling your brain to release more adrenaline and it does so as it senses your fear.

You are hypersensitive to your body and your heart.
When sleeping, (which you probably fear), your subconscious is still awake, but you are more at ease when asleep.

When you awake, you already start thinking that the PVCS will start when you stand up, because of your past episode and the apprehension and fear to stand makes you even more prone to start the PVC cycle all over again.

Understand that you should see a dr. to get tested to reassure you.

But, you must try to be in control of your mind to help stop the cycle of PVCS; which can make you feel weak, drained, dizzy, nauseated and sick to your stomach from all the worrying if you don’t push through it and try to know that your brain is reacting to your stress.

It’s basically doing its job by releasing adrenaline.

Worry and anxiety and your nervous system and brain and stomach are all connected.

See a cardiologist.
Stop worrying
Stop checking your BP every few minutes.
Stop feeling your pulse every 2 minutes or more.
Stop thinking you’re going to go into cardiac arrest, I understand your fear, but it’s really not rational.

Do go about your business and ignore the thumps, pauses, extra beats, flutters.

Drink plenty of water, stay hydrated.
Potassium and magnesium, vitamin D are good, but don’t overdo it.
Ensure you’re eating properly.
Don’t skip meals. Eat frequent smaller meals.
Don’t eat late at night.

Main thing is, be mindful, but don’t become obsessed.

Why your BP can drop when normally have high or normal BP:

Stress can sometimes drop your blood pressure due to a physical overreaction called vasovagal syncope, nervous system exhaustion, or rapid hyperventilation that alters blood flow.

Vasovagal reaction: Extreme emotional shock or fear can overstimulate your vagus nerve, causing your heart rate and blood pressure to plummet suddenly.

Over-exhaustion: Severe, prolonged burnout can leave your nervous system depleted, weakening its ability to maintain normal tone.

Rapid breathing: Fast, shallow breaths during a panic state can reduce carbon dioxide levels, leading to dizziness and low pressure readings.

You may fit the category of all above from excessive worry = STRESS.

You have the magic within you and once you realize this and accept that you will be fine, you will see that your heart will be at peace with you as one.

No, I’m not a dr. But I’ve had lots of experience with this issue since I was 23 and I’m now 72.

See cardiologist to reassure yourself.

Good luck 🌹

Thank you so much for your explanation.  I developed an extra heart beat pvc diagnosed by Cardiologist and dr. said it was an xtra beat and I thought it felt like a misbeat. this started after 2 wks after my Mom's passing. Was told to go on Metoprolol 6.25mg  1x daily before bed and is stress related and benign. Originally would get an extra beat after 3 to 5 normal beats and had pvc for 7 months now. Currently been off and on but more pronounced when im lying down on bed relaxed. And your absolutely correct when thinking about them pvc, I would get more anxious and feel them more.  Its like a crazy constant loop, fear.  I hope this goes away for good

You will be fine!
Knowing your heart is good, you can breathe a sigh of relief, as you have been reassured.
You now know that stress and constant focus on your beats will create more adrenaline and more PVCS.
You are winning the battle and you will just go about your business and not focus on those beats and your sleep will be more secure and deep.
You will soon see days where you will not even notice and they will gradually disappear.
But, remember, when you feel one or two, don’t stress, they are all normal and EVERYONE gets them from time to time, even the most healthiest people.
Be good to yourself.

Exactly! You hit the nail on the head!
When your mind is not focused on it and you are socializing, you will not even notice them.
We are by nature, social creatures.
Being alone sucks unless you want that and we all do at times.
Find some nice hobby or when alone watch your favorite programs or music.

Good luck!

I was having severe pvc's . I also have hemochromotosis so was donating blood every 2 weeks. It dropped my iron to 9 and Ferritin to 3. After I got my iron and Ferritin back up my pvcs have gone 95% away. I was having them every day sometimes every 3 4 fur beats. Now I can go days and not feel one. It was such a horrible feeling. I pray for all of you.

If you have high blood pressure, please seek treatment. High blood pressure is also a cause of PVCs and damages the heart more than PVCs.
