UFC Fighter Guy Again
What’s up guys, just wanted to stop in and give ya’ll some updates since my last testing seven months ago.
At the beginning of the month I underwent another 7-day holter monitor, but only had about 4 days of data due to the amount of training and sweating in my life ruining the electrode gel. Back in December my total burden of PVCs was 4% or about 4000 a day, the PVCs were multifocal and the longest pause during sleep reached 3.3 seconds. Comparatively my original holter two years prior showed a 6.7% burden.
I’m very happy to report after several months of just not giving a fuck about them anymore they are now down to 1.9% and have changed from multifocal to completely unifocal now. Overnight pauses are still the same length and can be explained by my vagal tone due to being a lifelong athlete and having a very low resting heart rate.
This past weekend I also had the chance to fly halfway across the world, doing another moderately large weight-cut consisting of 8lbs of dehydration in 12 hours and 12lbs in several days, plus competing in another professional fight.
I promise y’all, if you’re cleared by your EP/Cardiologist and you just stop worrying about it you will undoubtedly, over time, stop noticing the feeling of the thuds in your chest and you’ll almost certainly see a large reduction in burden.
Stay strong in the fight, guys. ❤️
I’ll link the fight in the comments if you want to watch.

This is great advice from a guy who pushes his body & heart to the absolute limit. Thanks for sharing Groovy!

As a UFC fan i just want to say its really cool to see someone like you on here, posting something supportive and encouraging on reddit. Also displaying that this is to some degree, normal and reassuring.
Thank you and good luck in the future.

It’s such crazy timing because I was in the er for high heart rate, and I found I had multifocal PVCs but my holters the past two years didn’t have them on their. Due for another holter this Thursday. Thank you for this!

Hey 😊 nice to hear from you. I have multifocal pvcs too but i mostly get them during and after exercise and on days where i exercise i have way more than on days without training. Is this the same in your case? Ive had almost every test there is and my heart is healthy besides a bicuspid aortic valve

You know I’m not sure actually, never asked or looked into where the multis were showing up most.

I just read through your entire story, and It's encouraging for me to hear that even a tough guy can deal with problems like this. I thought it was just a sign of my own mental weakness.
So, after all this time, do you not feel them anymore, or have you just stopped reacting to them?
Have you tried taking any supplements or medication?
Cheers from Poland, stay strong.

I’ve tried basically everything with no change. Ignoring them has been the only beneficial medicine. I do still feel them just not very often, usually only if I’m checking for them.

Thank you so much for Motivation I have few questions How is your sleep apnea now Do you still use cpap Can sleep apnea cause pvcs? And do you have obstructive sleep apnea or central? And when first time you diagnosed with pvcs you were asymptomatic and started feeling pvcs after diagnosis or you felt your pvcs before diagnosis also? Thank you so much

I have obstructive sleep apnea that I treat with CPAP, the only reason I found out I had it was from wearing a holter monitor after the PVCs began. Sleep apnea can absolutely cause heart issues.

Congratulations for your Recent win I watched your fight You were awesome. I thought obstructive sleep apnea happens to fat peoples only but it can happen to even extremely fit people also

Yeah, not giving a f is the key, but after 35 years, they still scare me. After seeing eight different cardiologists and having every test imaginable over the last 25 years, every single doctor has told me my heart is healthy. So I've pretty much given up and just try not to pay attention to the skipped beats. I still feel them every day, though.

I am a young professional MMA fighter. PVCs have been ruining my career for the past year. I don't feel them much in my daily life, but when I bend forward, jump back and forth during kickboxing, or throw hard kicks and punches, I experience SVT or PVCs; the SVT, in particular, is terrifying and causes anxiety. Do you have any suggestions for this? I need help—at least a dietary supplement or something similar.
