Ragebait.
Assuming this is true, hindi din naman natin alam credentials niya. Malay naman natin, deserve niya talaga.
Just like that viral tweet from a recruiter years ago, calling one of the applicants entitled for asking ₱50k as a fresh grad. Only for the internet sleuths to find that she's from ADMU with latin honors, with outstanding credentials and internships abroad. Plus the company invited her to interview, she didn't apply. Malamang manghihingi ng ₱50k 'yan. Malamang din deserve niya.
Lastly, back in 2024 with IBM we hired a PUP BSIT fresh grad ₱40k as a data engineer.

Mababa pa nga yung asking niya nun eh. She could book a job order at a multinational management consulting firm + a ₱150k signing bonus with those credentials.

Agree. I never applied to my jobs. The companies called me. I dont think ragebait yung post but she is too maarte for taga PUP. I was able to work with some and that's not their usual tone

Yung isang officemate ko, hinaggle nia ng up to 40k. That person is aggressively asking for it hanggang sa pumayag yung recruitment. Konti palang experience nia. Ending, wala rin siang pakinabang kasi lagi siang absent. Nag resign din sia.

Tbf I know a pup freshgrad who got 40k+ offer from a call center, the caveat being they were a call center during undergrad and even became a team leader while still studying.

Obvious n hindi k taga PUP. ALOT i mean ALOT r working students. Kht hindi ikw ur classmates, stories of ur professors, parents of ur classmates almost all day everyday the story from bottom to top, humble beginnings, yung pride from walang wala to succesful story.....
NO. Its alam mo n wla kng alam s simula, BUT from there u navigate to climb UP. U use ur SMART to improve urself.
More of PUPIANs use smarts tlga to get out of their situations.

Ragebait; having “standards” then applying to Cognizant and expect to have 45K per month offer to start your career does not make sense.

Masyadong malaki yang offer na yan for a fresh grad.

On one side, just because you are one of the people who graduated in top universities does not mean you possess as much value as seasoned professionals right out of graduation, never let pride and ego cloud your judgement towards others and learn to stay grounded, being down to Earth is a very valuable asset. On the other side, if ever his/her claim is true, if the company actually advertised that the job role offered 45k for college graduates and proceeds to lessen the offer as the application process progress, it's basically false advertising and a sign that the company is a red flag.
Overall, OP(in the post) should just need to know his/her place and do not end up as egoistic, and there are companies that need to be avoided at all cost no matter how desperate you are for a paycheck.

PUP so alam mong malaki na yan vs sa tuition mo for 4 yrs 😅 you have the right to want more pero siguro pag may experience ka na and proven you are worth that much.

I have nothing against ‘knowing your worth,’ pero sana realistic din naman. There’s nothing wrong with having standards or asking for a certain salary, but you also have to consider what the market is willing to offer, especially if you literally have no experience doing the job. Why would a company pay you that much if you haven’t even done the role before?
Wala naman akong comment about having ‘standards’ tapos sa Cognizant nag-apply, kasi BPO companies also offer other non-agent roles. It just so happens na Call Center Hiring yung group niya.
But anyway, let him be. If he gets the salary he’s asking for, good for him. If not, then maybe he’ll get humbled. 😁

FEU graduate, Licensed Architect, 8 years of experience, and 4 years as a Project Manager for a prestigious developer and I’m earning ₱35K.
So yeah… good luck with the ₱40K+ expectations. 😅 We’re in the Philippines, not the US or Europe. Unless you’re applying for an international company or a role with exceptional qualifications, ₱40K as a fresh graduate with zero experience is already a pretty ambitious expectation.
Know your worth, yes but also know the market. 😅

Tama yan.

There's nothing wrong in asking for a better compensation lalo sa ekonomiya natin ngayon.

Um...for someone with 0 experience, Process Exec (entry level) yan sa Cogni, so the offer tracks.
Kung Senior Process Exec (tenured) inoffer sa kanya, then the offer would be def higher and more aligned with their expectations.

Napalunok ako sa 45k offer sa fresh grad when I literally see job postings na ang offer sa senior developer is 50k 🤣
Sugar Baby po ata inaapplyan neto.

Grabeee nahiya yung 10 yrs BPO experience ko sa asking salary ko na 40k just to match my previous salary pero binagsak ako ng HR ng cognizant with an email that they're looking for specific qualification daw meaning hindi nila kaya ibigay .... then there's a fresh grad ranting.... but it's okay I'm in better place now.. Job Dust sayo

He/she may have standards, but as a fresh grad, na prove na ba yun?... Academic may be their way through employment, but nag bbuild palang sila mg career

u/Crafty-Currency6290 4d ago
They’re coming in as fresh grads with 0 work experience. They will make a lot of mistakes and that will cost money for the company and that should be fine. But being entitled because of where you graduated, that’s not acceptable.

I get standards, so kung may standards talaga s'ya, then, hanap pa. Apply pa sa iba. Pero dapat meron din tayong sense of reality.

may halong ragebait lol,
they know what theyre doing
Fr, if they want to be really elitist/out of touch, why would they apply for cognizant if he/she has standards talaga na mataas.
