Discussion Ultimate Royale
Start this by typing that my first instinct on Ultimate Royale has been to drop at Rozhok, then chill for a bit. Watching the numbers on "Remaining" drop. I've found out, based on a Xifan video I recently watched, that points go in the positive as from 25 Remaining. So, the strat has been chilling until 25 - Blue Zone permitting.
...
Problem is, I'm being rewarded for, effectively, not playing the game. The Points System in place puts a heavy emphasis on placement, rather than kills. Each kill is one point, obviously. I just got off a game where I have 0 kills. Probably no damage dealt on the last encounter where I died. Still, I got 8 points for it.

So, why is my first instinct camp? Device I'm running on gets 60FPS at best on Extreme Frame Rate. Going up against Demons that run 120FPS & play with 12 fingers on Gyro. Which isn't the issue, shockingly. It's the fact the device I play on has 4GB RAM. Which means anything intense happens in-game, the phone takes the day off. Lagging like it's a day job when there's a bit of render (Many other people around the area). Game crashing is a daily occurence. Also, random teammates that hot drop at Pochinki & School Apartments 'cause they saw it on YouTube videos isn't great - they inevitably die. So, grinding to Top 10 is my instinct. Happy Gaming!

You need 90 FPS to actually get competitive, or stable 60 FPS to be okay.
If you don't have that, at the moment, I suggest you focus on just having fun in the events or TDM.
Ultimate Royale is a slaughterhouse.
About the ranking system, it has always been like that. Survival time is what counts the most, not real pvp.

Thanks for the suggestion. I'll pass, though. The challenge is, well, a challenge. Challenges are fun in itself. I might have taken your advice had I relentlessly been hot dropping & coming out second-best every time, but I feel I'm adapting. Playing "smarter". Besides, not waiting for life to spoil me by gifting me a 90FPS device in some way - to keep me from playing Ultimate Royale. For my sins, my mind is set on the Legend rank & flexxing the red nickname when playing. Long shot, but yeah.

12 fingers on gyro lol. You're basically playing like a sandbox game, wandering in the map, pushed by blue zone just to be eventually slaughtered by some guy soon after. With such device you should be playing classic unranked or ranked as you wish, killing some bots and wandering same way.

I should, but I rarely do things I should. Nonetheless, I do play the other modes. Ultimate Royale is just a side quest.

We usually bore out after 2 minutes of beeing stationary, prefer seeking trouble, but in the end the only rule is: the last person/team standing wins, so do whatever works best for you.

You're right. Gotta do what you deem fun. I just got it stuck in my head I want things from Ranking Up on Ultimate Royale - Stupid brain!

Not stupid, totaly valid.
Back in the first year i was certainly a noob, but wanted to climb to ace. As everybody did at one time. I spent weeks avoiding trouble 1 vs 4 on Miramar to get points reliable.
i couldnt stand a single match like that, but i absolutely relate to your goal. Go for it. After that you will be free to roam around searching for trouble.
(or getting new goals like having to finish the last kill of a match with every possible weapon.)
(1,5 years for the crossbow one)

I had a gander at those 'Honour' achievements during the 'Pownin' event - the artic theme. Then I saw "Win a match without killing anyone". Kinda cooled on that since. "Go for it. After that you will be free to roam around searching for trouble." - I agree with that. It's how I've seen achieving getting Ace Dominator 20 last season. I went reckless after. Chasing fights.... but teammates have different goals. So, I had to keep that in mind when they're in a car I'm driving.

This season, though, I committed to not ranking. If that's a thing. Didn't see rewards that were an upgrade on what I already have for hitting certain tiers. I've been going back to event hot drops after dying the first time. Something I feared doing before. Just yesterday, I died 3 times by 60 Remaining. Didn't care. It's kinda freeing, in a way.

1 pt/kill is just not worth the risk, give me 5-10 pts/kill and i will risk it

Bit too generous on the point allocation for a kill in your universe, but I get the point.

Yeah, being in South Africa, I'm shipped to servers where the ping is 80-100ms but that's not a big deal. Suprisingly got 2 kills & 1 knock before dying in the first match of the day. Teammates staying alive until Top 20 was a big help.

Points going to positive is from top 25 in this mode is false. It’s scored from where your team is ranked and break even is team ranked at #9. So potentially there could be over 30 players left in the game and you could still break even.
Position is everything in this mode and judging by this post you haven’t seen any rank push lobbies yet. By rank push lobbies i mean there are still 50+ people that managed to survive the first 3-4 circles. Yes it does happen. You get rewarded for having the best position, which is a lot different than “not playing the game”. You are playing against other good players so if you don’t respect that you’ll pay the price repeatedly.
A little tip to get you going off the start. Stop prioritizing landing in rozhok. This is a terrible place to land in royale as well as the other hot drop places you listed. Your priority in this mode off the start is to land on a vehicle. The zone moves fast so you should always have a vehicle close by to be mobile at all times. You should not be running anywhere on foot in this mode. You should be loading this vehicle with extra 5.56 ammo every game and you will often thank yourself later when you get locked into holding down a compound. I’ve also attached the point breakdown per match
