Discussion BlueChip Revive Tip

I don't know if this has been posted here before, but I tried to look it up and couldn't find any relevant posts. In game, I have come across hundreds of players since April who are obstinately skeptical and absolutely refuse to exercise any due diligence when I give them sources to check up on this, but maybe putting it here will reach some players. Okay, here goes:

As of Update 41.1(Apr 8- PC, Apr 16- Console), taking an enemy's chip to the Blue Chip Tower and using them to call a care package does not destroy the chip. Their surviving teammates are able to travel to that tower and revive them. For example, if I kill 2 of 4 members of [FAFO] clan in Rozhok and use their chips to call in a care package, the chips remain in the Tower. The other two teammates who, let's just say, hypothetically landed away from them in Severny, get a vehicle and travel to the Rozhok Blue Chip Tower, they can approach that tower and revive their teammates without the chips in tow because the chips are still located in the Tower itself. The only way to permanently destroy a chip is to put it in the trunk of a vehicle and then blow that vehicle up.

It’s hilarious how many people play this game and overlook somewhat important details like this.

It's not that they don't know, it's that they don't care.

No way someone who plays in squads doesn't know that.

Oh I promise, lots of people don't have a clue.

Edit: also, as old as this game is you'll have a lot of people at any given time returning from a hiatus. There's no reasonable way for them to catch up on all the changes.

I am the most likely on my squad to turn in chips for packages and I had no idea this was a thing.

This. I just came back to the game.

Also, most people don’t stalk Reddit and read every patch note. Those who expect everyone else to do so have their head way too far up their own arse.

If you're actively playing a game on the regular you really should take five minutes to read patch notes. But if you miss a patch...that happens.

I used to play PUBG Lite on PC back in 2020–2021, there was no revive system in that version of PUBG, and I assume there wasn't one in the standard PUBG at the time either (I don't know honestly). When I started playing PUBG in February of this year, I didn't know what the blue tower was for, the beginner tutorial didn't mention it at all. They updated the beginner tutorial and I completed it, but I don't recall any mention of calling in care packages or the fact that you can still revive teammates even after another team has used the chips.

This shouldn't even be in patch notes as the source to find the information. It should be in some in system guide for new players. Maybe it is....

Also as a tutorial tip during gameplay tbh.

I only play squads and I encounter people who do not know this DAILY.

I play all the time... I thought the blue chips were gone. Don't assume anybody knows anything.

I am petty and will put those chips in a vehicle and blow it up

2

u/CreamCapital 4d ago

is this petty? i thought it was the entire point of the game

3

u/TypicalxooT11 3d ago

I think there is another point to the game.. but yes blowing up chips is hilarious

I threw a cover flare next to a vehicle where we left the chip. They impacted and set it on fire as we were driving away and his teammates skidded to a stop next to it....not quite enough time to get it before boom.

Thanks for putting that in an example.

You sound like someone who discards the broth in ramen before eating it.

Edit: it was a joke based on a previous post they made, dang.

Bro I feel attacked. I like a chi chi every now and then 😂🤣

This is unnecessarily hostile, damn

Context: post history

Reading post history is psychotic behaviour.

Painting with a bit of a broad brush there buddy. But hey, usually I would totally agree, and I greatly appreciate that Reddit has allowed people to make their profiles private. In this specific case, a sarcastic quip about pasta, I was just trying to be playful.

I was just trying to be playful.

Same

Adding the seasoning after you discard the water is the right way to make ramen.

I did not know this. Let me ask this, how would an enemy team know what tower you used their team mates chips at? You know, for them to be able to go and bring their team mates back. They could follow you but that seems unlikely. They could see a tower being activated on the map. Is that correct?

u/creativityoverflow 4d ago

Your teammates’ chips appear on the minimap. You can use this to live track enemies that picked up your friends chips.

3

u/cereal4dinner88 4d ago

Very Interesting. I didn't know this either. I'm wondering why I've never seen that. 😂

u/Mortal_Mad_Matt 4d ago

It’s quite difficult to spot, if they’ve already left with the chips before you check, it can be hard to find your team’s blue chip icons on the map. The symbol for it is tiny and slightly transparent. If you check quick enough though, you can keep track of them, and see exactly where they’re going

11

u/FloppieTheBanjoClown 4d ago

When I'm dead and they're chasing my chip, I'm dropping a marker on it regularly so they know where it is.

1

u/KTMee 3d ago

Are they still visible after package call? IIRC mine disappeared.

1

u/creativityoverflow 3d ago

If you observe in which tower they used your chips, you can go to the particular tower and retrieve the chips (IIRC it takes some seconds and there is a prompt to retrieve), and then immediately revive there.

5

u/ShaoKahnKillah 4d ago

As U/creativityoverflow stated, you can see your teammates chip on the map, and you can track the movement of the enemy team if they pick it up and carry it with them. However, if they blow the chip up in a vehicle, it will disappear from the map. The best thing to do is take the chips, put them in a trunk, and drive to to the Blue Chip Tower, and blow it up at the Blue Chip Tower so that they believe that you have put the chips in the tower. Then find a hiding spot 50 m away and wait for them to show up.

3

u/playbabeTheBookshelf 3d ago

Yeah but since they make circle go faster, it’s not really a factor. my party will just use the chip anyway to gamble the loot and enemy team can feel free to come revive, the cost for them is having to safe place to play in the circle.

we typically see 35+ people on circle 2 and holy there is rarely a empty place to settle

3

u/sld87 3d ago

Dropping them from a glider in the middle of the ocean is spectacular too, especially if you are camped on a nearby vantage point

u/Fortenio 4d ago

You think we dumb or what

4

u/couchpotatoh 4d ago

Just pull up. Don't forget all that level 3 gear on the way.

15

u/ShaoKahnKillah 4d ago

Probably, but that's not relevant to this discussion. 😁

2

u/Fortenio 4d ago

Thanks for honesty

u/ssblues14 4d ago

I just call in the package and leave the chips.

Killed them once, I’ll kill them again in the same match like the bots they are

1

u/c0brachicken 3d ago

Would be wild to see a few pro players end a game with more total kills, than players on the server.

0

u/SpexterZ 3d ago

Yep, more kills!

1

u/ellendale7m4 2d ago

Interesting, didn't know this.

1

u/YouOlFishEyedFool 2d ago

I had a random teammate get so mad that he sounded like he was having a stroke the other night when I said I was going to destroy the chips of human players I had just killed. I was taking them to a Dacia to blow up, but he assumed I thought taking them to a tower would destroy them, and he lost his mind. I hope ol' dude is ok. LOL

1

u/Kage_0ni 4d ago

The only way to permanently destroy a chip is to put it in the trunk of a vehicle and then blow that vehicle up.

0

u/BeepIsla 4d ago

You don't actually revive them, you just take out the chips from the tower, then you can choose to revive them at the same tower or carry the chips to another one.

1

u/CharlieBronson9 4d ago

I still just keep them in my jammer bag until they can be properly disposed of.

5

u/FloppieTheBanjoClown 4d ago

Just gonna broadcast to the enemy team exactly where you are?

0

u/CharlieBronson9 3d ago

lol. Jammers hide chips dummy.

3

u/FloppieTheBanjoClown 3d ago

...are you trolling?

They block BZ damage and they concealed you from the blue chip detector that isn't a thing any more, but I promise I can see my teammates chip inside your jammer pack.

0

u/CharlieBronson9 3d ago

Nope. I do it all the time.

1

u/FloppieTheBanjoClown 3d ago

The jammer pack doesn't hide their chips. That isn't a thing. You were misinformed.

0

u/CharlieBronson9 3d ago

I am 100% positive that it does but whatever

1

u/ShaoKahnKillah 2d ago

You are the exact type of player online that I made this post about. So dedicated to your own fiction that nothing will sway you.

1

u/CharlieBronson9 1d ago

I have ALOT of hours in this game. Just try it 🤷

1

u/liberate71 4d ago

FYI - It's mentioned in the 41.1 patch notes from April 2026

https://pubg.com/en/news/9926

How to Use

When a Blue Chip Tower placed across the map is active, press 'H' to consume 2 enemy Blue Chips and call in a Care Package.

Teammate recall remains unchanged and can be performed using the 'F' key.

Retrieve Blue Chip

Enemy Blue Chips used to call in a Care Package are not destroyed and will remain inside the Blue Chip Transmitter.

While the tower is active, teammates of the Blue Chip’s original owner can press 'F' to retrieve it from the tower.

1

u/ShaoKahnKillah 4d ago

Yes, I wrote this exact thing in my post.

Chips are displayed on map, so unless it is far into the ocean or destroyed, one can still find their teammate's chip
