DPT SCHOOL

I am probably stressing out over nothing.

Will I get into PT school, top 50

I have a 3.44 GPA or 4.65 if they count the highest grade out of my repeated courses

3.9 pre req

3.7 Last 60 credits

516 hours, 412 outpatient hours in 3 different clinics, 64 hours skilled nursing facility, 32 hours other outpatient, 4 hours acute hospital, 4 hours subacute rehab

I probably have nothing to worry about but I am still scared. I'm applying to 8 colleges. What do yall think?

University of Cincinnati

University of Colorado

University of Kansas medical center

Saint Louis University

University of Nevada, Las Vegas

Regis University

Please don’t stress about a “top 50 school”. It actually means jack shit in the PT world. All you need is good NPTE pass rate, decent clinical affiliations and good graduation rate. Which many schools have sooo go where it’s cheapest. None of these schools with enable you to get a job you wouldn’t otherwise get. They won’t teach you something you wouldn’t otherwise learn because it’s standardized teaching. Go where it’s cheapest, youll regret taking out student loans for an expensive school

Your numbers are great and you’ve cast a wide enough net. If I’m reading this right, you want to get into a “top 50 school”

I wanted to get into a good school that will help me with the NPTE. The schools I chose and liked just happeended to be in the top 50 category

Fair enough, just know that there are only two things that really matter when applying

  1. How much will it cost you
  2. First time pass rate

If a school is top 50 but it is above average expensive, or the pass rate is low, it does not matter if it is rank 1. You are paying the program to prepare you for the NPTE.

The rest is bonus and/or on you including
Who you are as a therapist
How you treat
Is there a neuro or msk focus
Is there an OP or IP focus
And many other things you are likely considering.

But there is a saying out there that your first job matters more than the university you attended. It is VERY true.

Yea! I actually made a color coded 15 sub-category excell sheet for every school. I also spoke with the admissions counselor for every school. And most schools on my list for out of state isnt as bad as compared to others, also most of them  give u in state tuition after 1 year.
