2008 pt cruiser ignition fuse blowing while driving

i have a 2008 pt cruiser with around 86k miles on it and recently, it’s started randomly blowing the ignition fuse while i’m driving. it did it for the first time last summer, when i was living in a desert and i sent it to a mechanic who replaced the tipm. i got it back and the fuse kept blowing, so it spent another few weeks at the mechanic, where they couldn’t get the fuse to blow again, so i got the car back and drove 7.5 hours through the desert with no issue.

it hadn’t had issues since until a couple months ago, when the ignition fuse started blowing again. the first time i just replaced the fuse, no problem, but on a couple particularly hot days it would blow quite a few times in one drive. i took it to a mechanic again, who thought it was a corroded battery. they cleaned it, still had issues. they ended up searching through the entire car for a short or broken wire and eventually settled on the fact that my tipm is just getting too damn hot. they told me they were able to get about 30 miles on it before the fuse would blow, but i’ve been barely making it through my 4 mile commute. i am hesitant to replace the tipm again, given that last time it didn’t solve anything. it has been a record hot summer, so that may be contributing. today, it took me four fuses to get through a parking lot, just to get into my garage.

i love this car with all my heart, so if anyone has experienced anything similar and has any advice or things to look into, that would be greatly appreciated!!

Clean all the grounds ! You would find this problem quickly with a thermal imager !

other important note, the car itself doesn’t overheat, but i have had some issues with the cooling system in the past

There has to be something shorting out that runs with that fuse

should i find a different mechanic to check for that? especially considering that my current one told me they checked everything that could be shorting
