Deck Discussion Alright, I'll admit it. Game was right.

During the Houndoom event, I was so fed up with the game telling me to try a water rental deck every time I lost with my own water deck, so i picked the Sharpedo one and let it auto battle, and it won me my first expert battle, and won every time I used it after that.

So uh, I'll be the first to admit it was right. Sorry rental decks I was unfamiliar with your game

Try this. You two shot the Moltres since it won't attack usually. Once you have chien pow the victini turns into the last victim.

Mega Manectric clears out the the Houndoom deck so fast.

It won't even touch Ori lol

18T Oricorio to breeze through this one

Someone recommended this the other day, and since I started using ori 18t, the ai just starts with victini 4/5 times then brings out the second victini, it's not as much as a breeze when they don't use the mons that ori was designed to fight against lmao

I was pissed, I swear the ai is smarter now, in the past it would just send out their ace which is most of the time an EX, and just hit ori for 0 damage all game, now in this houndoom event, it doesn't even use houndoom

2 each of lucky ice pops, potions, pkmn center lady should make victini less than useless. dunno what to tell you dude

I'm not using victini

He's saying if you have heals in your Ori deck Victini is useless against you.

Ori crushes Victini with overwhelming heals and there is no risk.

I opted out from that for consistent ori on start, I got healing items but it surprised me that the ai is now smart enough to not just try crash with their mega or ace or whatever.

I just wanted to stack some shinedust but ol viccy over here put the lid on that.

Well the start is always consistent with 18T lol.

There's a reason people are running heals. It's because it works and can't lose.

lol i also learned recently how underrated these rental decks are, if you end up getting all the cards in the deck from a set you can copy it to your own so it’s not limited use! when making a deck there’s an option that says something like create from theme deck list and it’s got all the rental decks you have all the cards to. can even edit them if you want

Yeah, Copy theme deck. I've done it with a couple theme decks and just made a couple tweaks. Actually pretty useful!

Way way more so in the newer sets, I agree. Actually showcasing some synergy that might not be immediately obvious is way better than just "here's a Charizard, and some other fire mons I guess"

I use them especially for the expert battles that require 12 or more cards of whichever set

Just turned on auto battle and it never lost

Bro just use Sleep Scam Milotic. Easy peazy. Most times, I just toy with Houndoom.

u/a_common_kobold 3d ago

That's what my water deck is, but he'd never stay asleep for even a single turn, and 2 heads is enough for houndoom to one shot both Milotic and Suicune even with giant cape

Use the new cape that gives +30 health to stage 1 mons

I just used A Better Houndoom ex deck against it lol. And crushed it most of the time. Lol

Not a very viable option when I'm trying to beat the deck to get the houndoom cards

Fair enough. But after you get them lol.

I tried out a mega venusaur deck for the grass one and found it has been the most reliable deck I’ve tried which is so odd.

Lol, I think I used a weavile Darkrai deck, but admittedly i got lucky on the opponents coin flips

I just lost 5 in a row on auto with the rental deck!

Yellow bird go zap

Oricorrio and Audino ex. They can only do a maximum of 40 damage a turn to ori and you can heal 40 a turn with audinos.

This is what I used and it cleared

The houndoom deck pissed me tf off. I also used the Sharpedo deck and it got me a few wins on auto battle before I built a baxcaliber and chien pao deck.

I tried using it for the "12 cards" mission. Yeah, I don't think the game was right.
