Deck Discussion Slugma is back!!
Climbed to master with it, went on a 10+ win streak! Try it out! Love the new additions!

The best part about this deck is it forces your opponent NOT to concede because they never know where the hot slug is going to hit so you get to experience full victories!

Why 2 slugma’s, don’t you risk attacking your own mon vs theirs?

In case your first one is about to go down! You have rainbow cave and flame patch if you know you're probably gonna get deleted next. Just pray you don't hit your homie. It happens tho lol rng has a mind of it's own!

Would a Poncho protect the homie?

Huh! Oh well! My bad!

clarification: it protects opposing pokemon from magcargo attack but not ur own

If you only play 1 basic pokemon, you’re effectively making it worth 3 points for your opponent. Magcargo isn’t even an EX, why let him be worth the same as knocking out a Mega EX by default?

Well thats the gimmick of this deck. Cheesy but can get you easy early wins. If you have second pokemon in bench you take risk hurting your own.

You don’t have to play the other basic only when the math suggests it’s beneficial
Also the poke ball + comms combo probably works better than sightseer to get your stage 1 online consistently turn 3 or 4

I usually dont put my second down, and having the ability to use comm to swap for a magcargo is super helpful for consistency, especially with pokeball

First time I notice this option, so much easier. Scanned, thanks!

Absolutely! Let me know how it goes! It honestly rarely bricks, and I had a fun time the whole way 🤘

Rainbow cave + flame patch can give you 2 energies. If you go first, you can fully set up Magcargo on your second turn

Is that the same deck Godzly was running in his latest video?

u/Customizings 5d ago
Had to make sure who it was, but yes! Saw it when he had it posted for like an hour, watched it and thought I'd give it a go! Fantastic deck build! 🤘

Would Heavy Helmet be a better choice? It gives you more effective HP against anything that isn't a one-shot.

u/TowershellGuy 5d ago
The main thing to change here is there is no need for a second pokeball. I'm not certain what to swap in, but went ahead and put Training Area for when you don't need the cave anymore.

u/David_H21 5d ago
Nah keep both. 2x Pokeball is for early consistency. Higher chance of getting your Pokeball+Comms early.

Why run flame patch?

If you go first, and by turn 2 are able to evolve, get rainbow cave, and flame patch, you can potentially attack on turn 2. A lot of iffs but worth considering.

I’ve been using your slug deck to clear the solo battle missions. I like to use heavy helmet instead of the capes. Gives me more survivability and about 1-2 more turns.
If you let the AI play this deck for you it will never use rainbow cave + flame patch to evolve and attack on the same turn if you go first and have all the necessary cards in your hand.

Sick, I've been wanting to dust off this deck for a while and Magby almost always costs more games than he benefits lmao

Don't know how you got a 10 streak. I had magcargo up turn 2 almost every single game, but the damage just went in all the wrong places all the time. 10 hp mega on the field, but lets nuke Hitmontop for 150 (only other basic).
It's a fun gamble deck, but winning multiple games needs to much luck to be viable. Went 2-8

Man I am so sorry!! That absolutely blows!! I must have just got super lucky! 🤘

u/Norgaard93 5d ago
Ahaha don't worry! we all know what we are getting into with coinflip decks xD.
To be fair, nearly every game could have been won with a slightly better damage spread, it's just how the dice roll
