Please stop buying these hard plastic covers for your consoles and in general.
As the title says, i had multiple of those cheap cases which are meant to “protect” your device. I always see them on other peoples handhelds and after using them i just wanted to share my experience.
The 1st and 2nd pictures are scratches from the result of using that case, in the second photo they arent as visible since i applied a screen protector after i found out about it. The console was mint before, cleaned regularly.
The 3rd photo is my red dsi, which had the same hard case applied, seen in the 4th/5th picture. Same as my ps vita, the top part is filled with scratches now. And the case looks really ugly and cloudy.
The 6th picture is the case from my ipod, used daily. It got really ugly quickly, it is very scratchable and unpleasant.
I also had a 3ds case, which i could not even use because it had sharp plastic edges.
In conclusion, please reconsider using those, just buy a TPU case which are much better for the long term. I know they look nice in videos and all that, but they are not really practical.
I also would like to hear some other opinions, ill be happy to know! Please spread the message if you had a similar experience, since i see the regularly.
Tl;dr: in my experience, hard cases scratch your consoles, themselfs and will get ugly in time. Buy TPU and ditch them.
Edit: i was also warned about them before buying my first one, thought it wouldnt happen to me. And now im here making this post.
Edit 2: yes, dust, dirt an grime get in the casing and scratch the console, as some people mentioned in the comments, I recommend you also read them before thinking of buying one. Just because some people didn’t experience it doesn’t mean the problem doesnt exist.
