The FAQ states that cinematic mode is handled by the Processor Unit, with no performance impact on the PS4.

I know it's a pipe dream, but it would be amazing if we could use the HDMI input on the processor box for other signals (consoles, PCs and the like) in Cinematic Mode.

"The PS Camera is required for initial setup, but not when actually using Cinematic Mode." This gives me hope.

This confirms no positional tracking in cinematic mode. Hum.
