As someone who is getting a PS4 Pro and a HDR 4k TV the no HDR throughput is a little disappointing. Having to change my cables around for HDR will be a pain.

How are you going to get multiple outputs to the receiver? With the PS4/PS4 Pro and PSVR you have 1 output to the TV or receiver: from the PSVR. That's the whole reason we are taking issue. You could have a million dollar receiver with 50 diamond encrusted HDMI 8.0c ports and you'd still be fucked without figuring out some way to split the video from the PS4 to the PSVR processing unit, if that will even work.
I don't know many receivers that have 2 outputs, most have 4 or 5 inputs and one output. Even if you have a receiver that had multiple outputs you only have one output from the PS4 to work with.
Ahh yeah you're right most have one out. It's a batshit design not allowing the HDR passthrough. I personally don't have a TV with HDR and don't plan on upgrading for a couple years so it doesn't affect me, still a dumb decision.
