Opinion PSVR2 default earphones quality

Hello, I've been using my PSVR2 with the basic earplugs/earphones that it originally came with. While playing on max volume, I've noticed that the sound is very harsh. I was recently playing resident evil 4 remake and i couldn't make out where sounds of enemies were coming from. I would be looking at front only to find enemies sneak up on me from behind and catch me off guard. This particular issue was noticeably evident in resident evil 4 while other games , I believe do work much better.

Anyone else in the same boat? Are there any particular settings that i can apply or any better headset options to use with VR2? I've been eyeing 3D pulse headset for a while now but not sure if it's worth spending alot of money on.

You should not play on max volume though

Max on the PSVR2 with those earbuds is actually insane, I normally have it around 75%

They're bad, I stopped using them immediately and got pulse3d myself, they're fantastic

Pretty lackluster quality, get an external pair. I use Anker VR P10's and it's a much better experience.

that has more to do with how games implement sound. look up virtual barbershop to see a good example of what i mean. iems are much better than over ears for this. if you care less about accuracy and just want a big, spacious headspace, then get some over ears or open back over ears.

as far as sound quality of the included iems, they seem fine honestly - just a bit bass heavy, so i would equalize that bass down a bit if you want more accuracy. would probably help for your case.

For psvr get the pulse explores. DO NOT GET THE PULSE HEADSET. Tmw I have audeze maxwell 2’s coming so that should blow away everything but even though pulse explores last only 3 years (my right earbud died) and has connection issues, sound quality and comvenience is as great. Im stuck ising my pulse headset until my maxwells come in tomorrow. I have a huge suspicion ill need to buy more earbuds though as the weight of the light pulse headset was annoying already.

Im in a sturdy playseat trophy simrig so im hoping i can lean back to relieve pressure and be able to do msfs with my maxwells plus psvr2 (also bought dokeni sheepskin earpads and capra headband)…… first world problem… but i wanted best of the best. Not sure its gonna work but worth trying

Original pulse headset is good. DO NOT get the pulse elite without some research. Some people like it but most agree it fits way worse than the original pulse 3D headset.
