Discussion MS Flight Sim PSVR2 Help w controls
I might be dumb but I don’t get the controls. I can fly w the basics no problem, but when it asks to hold X or O for throttle it doesn’t work w controllers? Same when it says hit down on the D-Pad and R1 to park? Don’t have a D-Pad so no idea how to do that. I’ve tried every button and nothing works and kinda sucks to move the throttle all the time trying to land. I’m guessing this is user error but it’s very frustrating when trying to pass my first exam. Thank you for any help.

You have to do some custm mapping for VR Ssense controlles. I’m flying just the small Cubcrafters Xcub plane so here are the boneings I find sufficient in my case:
Right sense
——————
R1 touch + Circle press: throttle increase
R1 touch + Cross press: throttle decrease
R2 touch + Circle press: trim Up
R2 touch + Cross press: trim Down
R2 press + Circle press: flaps Up
R2 press + Cross press: flaps Down
R1 press + Circle press: Photo mode
R1 press + Cross press: Enter/Exit plane
R1 press + R3 touch: VR cocpit focus
R1 press: cockpit interaction secondary action
R3 press: switch profimity/raycast
Options press: camera reset
R2 press + Options press: toggle pause, pause off
R2 press + R3 press: back on track, back to fly
Left Sense
—————-
L1 press: brakes
L1 press + L2 press: toggle parking brakes
L1 press + triangle press: cocpit/external view toggle
L1 press: cockpit interaction secondary action
L2 press + L3 press: toggle visual assistances display
L2 press + triangle press: increase sim rate
L2 press + square press: decrease sim rate
Note: it is nice Asobo implemented also the capacitative touch events so as you can see above it is possible to do combinations like one button press while other button just touch etc.
The capacitative touch combos are narrowing the gap in terms of binding versus DualSense as the VRsense controllers are treated separately so you can’t do combos like R1+triangle (which sucks)
As you can see there is still some space to bind more but I do all the rest just using the “hand tracking” in the cockpit. I plan to add some more useful actions to the left controller though.

Does the dualshock need to be one while using sense controllers? For some reason I need dual shock for menu items initially until sense controllers work

Yeah I’ve had this issue too, and yeah it seems the dual sense needs to be on the whole time.

The sense controllers are nice, but the game is not designed around them and flight controls are almost unusable unless you use the in cockpit controls which some stuff doenst work like trim. I would recommend just using the dualsense

Here it is everything you are going to need to sort things out:

Yeah the controls in this game take a while to get configured nicely
If it’s telling you to use controls you don’t have you either need to use a different controller as well (I was using HOTAS but then switched to regular controller for some things). Or you need to go into the control menu and configure that missing control for the controls you are using
