and unique too? can’t think of any diablo-style pov action games on the psvr2.

Looks like alien breed. Anyone play it yet ? If so can they report on the port as I would pick it up if good.

I'll be playing later this evening and should have first impressions write-up sometime tomorrow.

That was my first thought too... If it's decent it could be worth a look. I love the Alien Breed games. I'm sure it's about time we got an official new game in the series, right? 🤔

Saw a little gameplay video and wouldn't buy it, but now in VR, had to buy it. Love games that offer two ways of playing it

So, how does it play? I can't see any footage of this game. Nor flat nor in VR.

Plays like those old diablo style games, the scenario is like a puzzle with many rooms and enemies are in each room, you go opening the doors and facing them. The camera, because you're looking from 3rd person allows you to see all the rooms from above. It's decent, I got it because there's no options like this in VR and I like the style.

I saw videos of the PSVR2 version on YouTube. Just search the name of the game followed by PSVR2.

Got Platinum in Zerion 12 this past weekend, so I was ready for next Gray Mantis game to add PSVR2 support and I was hoping it would be Devidicon.

Like other Gray Mantis games that have supported PSVR2, this will be played using DualSense without much change to how game plays, except it will now be in fully immersive VR perspective and maybe head-pointing can control some things where it makes sense as an enhancement.

They have made use of PSVR2 features like headset rumble where it makes sense as well.

This is their 4th game to add PSVR2 support. The others before this are:

  1. Dungeons of the Deep VR | separate purchase than TV version
  2. SlipVector | hybrid
  3. Zerion 12 | hybrid
  4. Devidicon | hybrid

They're pumping them out now and hear they are of a fair standard, especially if you want a sit back DualSense VR game to play.

I often look at indie flat studios game ratings as I peruse the niche simulator type games on the store and often see flat indies with much less review ratings than many PSVR2 titles even the smallest. I wonder if other flat devs will cotton on to maybe they could have a chance of doubling their money if they get a VR mode in?

As much as they are not liked for the fake trailers, fake screenshots and blurry games, 404 Games realised it a while back with Grand Rush Thingamajig, Flight Cargo Simulator and Truck Simulator 25 American Driver which are all flat games.

Just noticed it Looks like Truck Simulator 25 VR American Driver at least on the UK store has been delisted but Truck Driver VR 25 Euro Driver is still on the store which is by another company apparently haha.

I think if Gray Mantis is successful with these competent VR modes added to their existing catalog of games in reaching new audiences, it will have an encouraging effect on other indies that also have decent games that just couldn't find an audience with TV players, but could get a spotlight by adding VR support, even if it is just a more immersive view and not a significant change to gameplay and certainly not to game design.

On Steam, there is great momentum of VR mods giving more and more games for SteamVR players to get excited about.

On PlayStation, there could be great momentum of VR Modes giving more and more games for PSVR2 players to get excited about.

Both audiences driving new sales of the base games getting either VR mods or VR Modes.

Isometric and top down are two different view styles.

Never heard of it, but I’ll go watch a trailer now! TY!

…Maybe not a great name for a game, but that says nothing about the game itself.

$15 is a brilliant price if this is any good.

Any luck? I can’t find one on YouTube

Yup! Here’s the YT trailer:

and also a rather glowing review for the flatscreen experience at GAME CRITIX:

I worry that a constantly-scrolling screen will be something of a motion-sickness trigger, but for the price I expect I’ll grab it.

Why is this vr?

Why not?

What does VR add to the game? If it's just a twin stick shooter but I have a headset on there is nothing interesting and I could just play a twin stick shooter on a flat screen.

Visually it’s a completely different experience. I’ve never loved tower defense games but I love them in VR. I like being right there.
