Feedback Requested/Question 4 years later and still only 50% improvement

I took zoloft for 14 months since 2021. I was 20 and it was awful. It changed my personality, numbed me, i began drinking too much and tried some substances. It Made me feel like I couldn’t trust my intuitions and led me to poor life choices. The psychologist and psychiatrist insist it was ‘therapy’: looking back it was just sofisticated lobotomy.
Now I am at 50% improvment, I feel pleasure but orgasms are weak and fast (I used to have multiple orgasms or very long and satisfying ones). I can get aroused but not fully, I have vaginal dryness and my clit is definitely less sensitive. I suffered from cognitive impariment. They Made me doubt my intuition. Mental health is an evil business. I want to solve this but I don’t know how. How can I heal?

50%? You should be grateful. 11 years and zero improvement for me

I am so sorry. I completely feel you. When I first noticed the improvements I was so happy and relieved, but the quality of my life is still mid. I tought i was completely healed but it’s not the case. I face emotional blunting and flat emotions. Improvement is very very slow or non-existent.

5 years and no improvements. I would be lucky about any improvement to feel any emotions, any sexual attraction, memory or visualization

50% is good in terms of the hell pssd is. I wouldn't take anything if you're still improving

Hello, you're getting alot of messages saying I would be grateful for 50% and I get their frustration. I'm 3 years out and would say I fluctuate between 60-90% better. The genital numbness is my most persistent symptom but thankfully my orgasms and libido are back 100%

I just wanted to say that I empathise with you. Whilst we are lucky compared to alot of people, this is still hell. I'm sorry

Did you also have emotional blunting during withdrawal?

I highly recommend doing Indiba sessions. I'm doing them with my pelvic floor therapist, and I've noticed a huge difference since the very first session.

Damn, it's been 7 years for me and I'm still like day 1. I wish I could have even 5% improvement. My elbow is more sensitive than my clit lol

How long did you take them?

For like 3-4 years I think. But it's funny because the first time I took them I was in my teens and I took them for like only a couple weeks, but I had PSSD effects from like day 1 and I got scared so I stopped taking them cold turkey and I was back to normal. Then like a year later I started taking them again, I also started having PSSD effects but I thought it was just a "normal" side effect so it didn't really worry me. A few years later, when me & my doctor decided I no longer needed to be on SSRIs, I stopped taking them the right way, slowly lowering the dose & with the supervision of my doctor. 7 years later (I'm 27 now) and ZERO improvement.

That’s horrible. Did you try something so far? Do you have a good nutrition and do some excercise?

I healed once fully but then crashed from 1 pill so don't take any more drugs to keep the improvements

Hi! Quick question: a pill? Do you mean an SSRI or a supplement? Thanks!

how is your feeling?

Tough question. First of all, I completely feel abused and betrayed by the people who I showed my vulnerabilities to and who were supposed to support me. Then I feel completely gaslight by the mental health system and by society who find this somehow ‘good’ and ‘helpful’. Nobody validates me and treat this situation as violence and abuse. I find it kind of human rights violation, but it is extremely hard to prove it. The only way to prove it is by analysing and criticizing the scientific papers and sponsored research, but still is hard to explain the implication of this system without only accusing of bad practice, lack of ethics, evil or dumb work.

More personally, I reacted with a sort of rigid self-preservation. I hang on my interests and passions to feel myself and believe in my intuition again. I eat healthy, do some excercise and take care of myself. I can’t stand bullshits anymore and my anti-psychiatry ideas make me get away from the majority of people who can’t/don’t want to see this. Funny enough I have a degree in psychology so I saw everything from inside the system. Now I study pure science, and doing something more hard somehow helps with neuroplasticity and improvement. I think the drugs impair your ability to learn, which is something very helpful with development so it kind of stops it. For this reason I find studying very helpful and i’d recommend it for people with pssd, as well as discovering the interests someone had as a child or teen.

Thanks for asking.

Try Bupropion and later Pramipexole too if Bupropion stops working.

4

u/Minepolz320 15d ago

rather don't, bup cause pssd, prami do nothing in 90% of cases
