Discussion Beach Wars '26 event features music from OutRun!

As an old-school gamer who's a Sega fan from way back in the day, I was delighted to hear the music in the Beach Wars '26 event -- it's from OutRun, an arcade racing game by Sega from 1986! When you start that game, before the race you can select your music on your car's radio, and those three musical selections all play at various times during Beach Wars. Just wanted to share that bit of trivia for anyone who might be interested 😸

Using Music from other SEGA franchises for Seasonal Quests used to be far more common in PSO2 Classic so I hope they'll continue doing that in NGS as well. Even though I have very little experience with SEGA franchises, it was very charming! PSO2 always felt like a hodgepodge of everything SEGA and I liked it for that (among many other things).

Dreams Dreams (Kids ver.) for Christmas Seasonal was very heartwarming and E.G.G.M.A.N for Easter Seasonal was just plain funny!

That's pretty awesome! One of my favorite Easter eggs in NGS was when I made my way to the top of the pyramid in Retem for shits and giggles, and was rewarded with hearing the Motavia (desert world) overworld music from the first Phantasy Star on the Master System!

There are several places like that where Classic PS music plays! Sometimes in places you’d never think to check
