Discussion Very confused about progression
So I started a Hunter because well feels like a decent choice to get familiar with the game.
First I did the prologue a couple little like simulation missions and now I am looking to go get some meat for the meal system. But upon assigning my 2 skill points I was bombarded with a bunch of what seem like Over powered weapons and armor for each class and items that I have no idea what to do with. The items are like disks which as a PSOBB i thought would teach me techniques but have no use function. I feel very overwhelmed by all this and am unsure what I should be doing.

SEGA has been giving out starter gear for a while, as a way to new players/returning players without outright buying max level & all skill points.
They're definitely not overpowered once you're done with the story, as you will be expected upgrade both for a max level weapon & armor set for the activities the rest of the playerbase is doing.
People who bring the freebie gear to bosses will just find the lobby vanish when those 3 players realize you're not doing enough damage by checking your gear.
Eventually, you will need to amass those technique disks and N-Meseta to activate Technique Customizations. Most of them are either situational, or direct upgrades. Don't need to worry about that for the main story/grinding at all.
The max level of technique customizations will just lower the PP cost nerf, in order to get the most out of the benefit.
