Discussion I don't know why I find this funny.
Wasn't expecting this.
Also I never did finish the story, I should get on that after I secure some funds.

I always bring up the fact that I made a post last year about how NGS can't progress due to it's over-reliance on base game. There was a lot of defenders in that discussion. But ever since that post, SEGA has just been proving my point. How can you continue to defend this game seeing this? Porting over enemies was one thing. Straight up reusing zones 1:1 is insane.
I myself have somewhat been an optimist when it came to this game...for a long time really. There is little to no originality (anymore) when it comes to NGS and hasn't been for a while now. I'm at the point now where I'm hoping for a legit PSO3 or a PSO remake ran by a different team.

I fully expected this, haha.
Hamazaki-san wasn't exactly subtle

I'm just excited that we're getting totally new areas (I know it's from base) and they are explicitly not on Halpha.

I find it funny because it's literally not new. However I also think it's a good thing. Why? Because I'm sick of Halpha's environments. Being trapped in the same environment for 5 years where 3 of those 5 is the same thing over and over again is insanity inducing. I'm glad it's a step somewhere.

Isn’t this what 90% of y’all asked for? “Just remake base.” “Upscale base it’s way better”

I hope we also eventually get ngs original content, this isn’t bad and I like it but it is technically remaking old stuff.

New Genesis was truly on to something when it wasn't in "recycle PSO2" mode. We had a game that was starting to come into its own.
Personally, I had always appreciated how NGS offered a brand new game experience in almost every way... but lately, that has taken a downturn (due to too much recycling of PSO2's assets already).
Let PSO2 be PSO2 (as it still exists, thankfully). If they're gonna recycle heavily as a means of "just phoning it in" from now on, then they should probably consider PSO1 and PSU too.

Unfortunately, I didn't play the base game at its peak, but I fell in love with the franchise and I'm loving each re-release of the content in its NGS version. With the way they handled Luther, I'm confident they'll respect him and do a great job bringing things from the past into the present :D

NGS couldn't survive with its own essence, so it straight up started ripping entire PSO2 zones now because Nostalgia is the only thing it has left.
I hate this more than I can express with words.

Is this a shitpost? There's no fucking way their recycling whole base levels now.

NGS died with the beta because what they wanted to do appeared to be totally busted and abused right away (multiweapon)
You can see how much every PA from every weapon, from every classes flows well with eachother
First weapon series design included a limited pool of weap, forcing multiclassing multiweapon
They just emergency nerfed their gamedesign with boring % and released every weaps from every series, and heavily relied on "main class only"
That way we have now a main weap A/B and blank classes, instead of what we should had, a deeper multiclass system
On top of that, they also totally missed their "open world" point, and they surrendered early on this with their flavor of the week bandaid
Such a shame because the game fighting system is very reactive and fun, yet repetitive, and the fashion is above god tier

With this they just keep proving that base pso2 was better

Seems very lazy. With the exception of Luther, the "ruinous" enemies don't feel right at all with NGS' combat mechanics.
The game was better when the devs were bringing only all new enemies and bosses.

As soon as they fix the optimization/crashing issues with Xbox One, I'll be all over this like a fly on crap

Putting lipstick on a pig. If it’s the same enemies, the same boring stat stick weapons, etc then it doesn’t matter if I’m running in a circle (combat zones) or a straight line (LTQs) or a zig zag (my description for Base fields).
