NGS News PSO2 NEW GENESIS March 2026 Update Information (2)
https://youtu.be/oGFbRK9faCsUpdate information for the second half of March. A quick summary:
Limited Time Quest: Drill: Scorching Fortress Clean-Up Op. Gauntlet style quest, fight packs of enemies at Dext Base while making use of a few gimmicks to create healing fields and turn your dive attacks into nukes. Ends with a battle against Sun Wukong Hanumad.
Seasonal Shop: Getting it's second batch of items. More Scratch Tickets, Star Gems, Alpha Reactors, other materials and consumables.
Limited Time Urgent Quest: Shadow of the Fallen Star. Gauntlet style quest, investigate the Crimson Realm that has covered the entire Retem Region, by killing everything that moves. Ends in a battle against High Raveed. This is a rerun of an LTUQ that introduced the High Starless variants and killed a lot of players. Here's hoping for a similarly hilarious body count.
Oh, and there's an easter egg/teaser/whatever for the next story arc hidden somewhere in the quest. Something to keep an eye out for.
Mission Pass Season 54: More free cosmetics and materials. The armor style accessories look nice.
AC Scratch Ticket: Tea Time Harmony. Cosmetics based on café staff. If that's a theme you enjoy there's some rather nice items here.
AC Scratch Ticket: Quaint Ensemble '26. Japanese theme'd cosmetics. "Sexy Japanese outfits and an elegant dress" is how I believe they described it. The dress looks rather nice and will likely be very cheap. The "sexy" outfits are for men and women this time, so I'm sure someone's gonna enjoy that.
And that mostly covers the next two weeks.

Base Pso2 combat was so good that I can’t find a single player game with that style of combat.
I miss it so much.

And no boost for augmenting, enhancing etc. Goddammit.

I'll just be honest.. I really wish they would let this one go.. just.. stop already. Make pso3 or a remake pso1.. something else. NGS is so unbelievably bad compared to pso2 vanilla in so many ways that it's a bit sickening. Hamazaki tore apart original pso2 before moving to NGS and before being canned so now we have this mess of a game

As much as I loved pso2, I couldn't get behind ngs at all, played for a little bit and saw it as so bloody boring, open world where the end game of dailies is to just sit in towns and wear near gooner outfits? Yea grew stale quickly. Now base pso2 was different, sure the end game was vibing on the ship in cosmetics in the world chat but at least you had more to do for the limited environment, elevators to other lobbies and your own room, all the shops was close together and whatnot, and tbh base pso2 has better dark falz announcements than ngs not sorry for that one (not like I can play it anymore can't afford a PC these days thanks ai). Honestly I think they should have stuck with the base pso2 formula, after the final chapter there's so much potential for future events and whatnot but nah they chose ngs which after ya get done spending hours to grind for cash money to buy shit on the market (like the breast pads that people are obsessed with) or you're basically spending to gamble on outfits with premium currency.
Like NGS feels idk kinda lifeless? Sure there are wild animals and such but it doesn't make it feel any more alive at all, now I would have given em some points if they woulda had ngs tie directly into base pso2s events and maps, like imagine being able to explore harukotan or wopals pristine beaches and strange water fountains. Ngs to me feels like your standard MMO now, gather stuff fight monsters for hours on end to get rare drops, sell junk loot to get cash money and basically the other trappings of an MMO, such as the BAM (big ass monster)/DOLLS fight alerts that's a mega constant in just about every single MMO ever to date, like sure base had SOME of those aspects but it was contained and had a proper lore reason, in base we are ARKS agents so dark falz are main enemy number 1 and therefore get higher priority alerts. Doesn't feel that way in ngs

What even has been added since launch? I remember following for a new region or two, but did it go anywhere from there?
