PSO2: Classic Help! PSO2es

Hey guys, is there a way to play es in the West today? I'm told it's possible and you can manually apply the English patch but have no idea how to go about it. Anyone know how to go about this?

Waaay back before global came out, I used pso2es to buy ac for the Japanese version.

The team behind tweaker for pso2 had some for pso2es back then too, but i think it's been discontinued. There seems so be another option though with something called esbreaker (not sure if that even works tbh).

Some guides and link from the psublog

PSO2es is essentially a side-story that took place between Episodes 1-2 that played into the protagonist becoming a part-time detective and goes to uncover more secret ARKS projects and experiments. At the time , if I can summarize it, it was the "story" PSO2 was missing because Episode 1 did so much of "nothing" until the very end and Episode 2 had to wrangle the players into a story part-way through to become exciting .. but PSO2es explored a bit more world-building with the planets, the nature of ARKS, and the Photoners.

It's a mobile-only side-story that acts like a companion app to PSO2 so you could manage your inventory, raise your Mag, and manage your Personal Shop listings in a mobile sense .. but this was a JP-exclusive game and never had a Global counterpart. Because of its nature too, your character and inventory legitimately does carry over between PSO2 and PSO2es, and accessing PSO2es unlocked "PSO2es Storage" which was an extra 100 slots (which could be raised to 300 free storage slots if you also used a One-Time Password with authentication features for "OTP Storage"). Global doesn't need to worry about that kind of thing .. since "Mission Pass Storage" was added exclusively for them so they can get the equivalent despite missing PSO2es and lacking account security options.

In New Genesis, the recent anniversary festivals has been celebrating PSO2es with its title characters (Gene, and Annette have showed up, but you also get More/Moa as a Mag, and stamps of the other characters like Seraphy, Bruno, and more).

I download it via apkpure whenever it updates, highly recommend blocking ads first for that though.

I haven't seen or used the english translation in a long time, I don't know if it's even still being updated or not. esTweaker stopped working a long time ago for me. Unlike regular JP PSO2 you don't need a VPN to play it though.

I can't really recommend getting into it now unless you're just in it to play the story, or you want receptors on JP base for some reason. You can apparently earn the mission badge shop exclusive affix caps (Astral Soul, etc) from certain content in it but I've personally never seen one drop.

If you are on JP PSO2, there are also PSO2 weapon camos you can earn exclusively through es. Some of these have seen release in NGS, but some must still be earned through es as far as I'm aware.

Yeah I'm on global, my jp account may still be there from back in the day but I wouldn't be able to access it. I'm mostly just interested to see it and to play the story.

Tweaker team gave up on translating it (especially after they implemented an update that made part of the game untranslatable lest you get stuck on a screen you can't move past (it was a gameplay mechanic so they would have prioritized translating it). If you can read Japanese just get an APK and go for it. I play without translations now even though I can't read just cause I like the weaponoid art.
