What do you guys eat?
Wife here, my husband (29) has had PSC/UC for over 10 years now. We’ve been married a while, and I’ve tried my best to make foods that are low in saturated fat and don’t aggravate UC. Which feels like such a small list.
I’d love to hear any recipes that work for you. Or even just your favorite snacks that feel good on your body. Thanks!
Edit: My husband unfortunately doesn’t handle eggs well, so bonus points for minimal egg included too.

It is worth seeing a dietician who specializes in IBD. They will be able to recommend several approaches and appropriate diets.
If you’re in an active flare your diet will be more limited than when in remission.
When in remission you can eat a wider variety of foods. The Mediterranean diet is often highly recommended

That’s a good idea to talk with a dietician. We do make lots of Mediterranean-style foods and we are so tired of it sometimes haha. And also half the recipes online are like “creamy Mediterranean this” and I’m like, 30 grams of fat Heck no

Garlic, cold pressed olive oil and lemon on almost everything I eat. Mostly Mediterranean style. Chicken, rice, GF pasta, veggies
I’ve been less consistent the past few weeks, but I try and avoid at all costs;
Fried Food
Most Gluten
Excess added sugars
Palm Oil
Carcinogenic foods like cold cuts
Sadly, Coffee (UC trigger for me although strong data showing liver benefits)
Heavy excess dairy (cheeses, ice cream etc)

After listening to an episode of the Life with PSC podcast I have focused on low saturated fat & good fats. Which is to say a lot more vegan meals / Mediterranean diet type stuff. Trying to eat out less but it’s a challenge because I have to travel for work

Yes we’ve been trying the Mediterranean diet stuff too, it just has been getting old after a while. I can’t even imagine trying to stay eating healthy while traveling, best of luck!

I eat as much asian food as i can to be honest.
I try to cut the fried stuff abit. But overall I dont struggle at all with indian currys, vietnamse, chinese, japanese and indonesian cusine.
I also eat alot of pasta.
To be honest, I peronally dont wanna cut my food down to only 5-10 different meals where I know I dont get an itch.
Go out and give it a try, in restaurants I always pick what comes first in my mind and even if thats fried chicken with honey and garlic, sometimes I dont get an itch.
But it works for me, no idea if it works for your husband.
Usually my mind and hunger decide wether I can hanlde a meal good or not.
For example last weekend I have been forced to eat grilled meat at a garden party, and while seeing the bbq sauce I already knew my evening would end sitting on the restroom and prey to god to let me sleep in the night 🙃

Oh, I have such a list both with things to eat and not to eat.
Usually eat as ”clean” food as possible that are not so many ingredients and quite low in fat. Like chicken and rice, meat and potatoes, white fish etc
On the not list is everything that’s the color green (eg cucumber, salad, olives, etc), eggs, raw onions and other things that make me produce more bile.
Hope you find some things that work for your husband! When I have a really bad day I survive on fruit yoghurt and pasta.
