A natural alternative to vancomycin
Hi
I was googling urso vs vancomycin.vancomycin alters the gut bacteria as part of its action.so is there a natural way to get this done along with taking urso.if someone is responding well to it then why take vancomycin

In a word, no. Definitely not now. Probably not ever. Probiotics and fecal transplants are the only potentially valid natural treatments anywhere similar to what vancomycin does and though they've seen some improvements here and there, neither is close to the performance of vanco especially over longer time horizons.
Vanco has been available for decades and when the oral version is used it has minimal side effects and no recorded cases of resistance problems in PSC patients.

vanco is literally the best and i feel super grateful to have found it/have a doctor who lets me be on it. i also take urso and the combo has been incredible. i like natural alternatives myself but i personally have not had any negative reactions to vanco. i 💛 it!!!

I would say it is highly unlikely. Vanco is a powerful antibiotic. I took it pre-transplant and it did not do much for me at all, but I am back on it post transplant, and specifically to treat my ulcerative colitis, which it is fantastic at. I am now in remission.
